THE FIRST THING...
The Quickly Now of "The First Thing"
John 1:41-42 NIV84
The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, "We have found the Messiah" (that is, the Christ). [42] And he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, "You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas" (which, when translated, is Peter ).
Take note of the order of priority in the text: "The first thing Andrew did..."
Andrew did not wait for a formal invitation program, or to finish levels 1 to 4, or a perfect season in life. The moment he discovered the reality of who Jesus was, his immediate instinct was to share to his brother, Simon.
Sharing the Gospel and inviting and bringing people into the presence of God isn't an afterthought—it is a Christian's immediate, joyous reflex.
You Never Know What God Will Do with the Person You Bring
When Andrew brought Simon, he couldn't have known that Simon Peter would become a cornerstone of the early Church, preaching at Pentecost where three thousand people were saved.
Andrew was not the famous preacher, but he was the link that connected the preacher to Christ. Never underestimate the impact of bringing one person—a coworker, a cousin, a classmate—to church. God may transform their life and use them to impact countless others.
Make it an "Anagkazo" Sunday
1. Keep a list with 20 names of your target unbelievers
2. Pray for each of them everyday
3. Intentionally and personally Invite them by visiting them.
4. Fetch them, compel them to come with you in God's House.
Luke 14:23 NLT
So his master said, 'Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full.
