Christians' Anchor of Life Ministries - CALM CALM is a Born Again Full Gospel Christian Church But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us!

CHRIST, the Anchor of Life (Matthew 8:23-27)

23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24 Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. We’re going to drown!”

26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.

27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”

A covenant with your eyes. That will help you avoid the lustful glance.

That’s the challenge that came from Job. “I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a girl.”

While Job’s words are a clear directive to avoid sexual temptation…it also is a guide to be followed in a much broader context.

The eye gate is much used by Satan. It’s through the eye gate that temptation takes root – and Satan does his destructive work.

What is the way to godly control of your eyes? Make a covenant. Set your mind to the task of filtering out any mental pictures that lead you into temptation. It is a promise you make with your eyes – and a promise that honors God as well.

Be a covenant-maker. And keep the ones you make.

Many Christians are dying spiritually,

Not because they fell into major sin.
Not because they stopped believing in God.
But because they slowly replaced God with everything else, and called it “being busy.”

Let’s say it plainly:

People don’t skip church because they’re busy.
They skip church because something else became more important.

We have time to go out.
Time to travel.
Time to shop.
Time to sleep in.
Time to scroll for HOURS.
Time to binge shows.
Time to hang out.
Time to do errands that could’ve waited.

But when it’s time to go to the house of God?

Suddenly, everyone’s “busy.”
Sunday becomes “rest day.”
Worship becomes “optional.”
Service becomes “kung kailan free.”

We see people wake up early for work,
but can’t wake up for worship.
We see people sacrifice for their hobbies,
but have no strength for ministry.
We see people push through traffic for their entertainment,
but church is “too far.”

Let’s be real:
It’s not a time issue.
It’s a HEART issue.

Because you always make time for what matters to you.

And here’s the sharp truth nobody wants to hear:

Many Christians have already left the church,
even if they’re still attending occasionally.
Their hearts are gone.
Their priorities shifted.
Their passion died.

Why?
Because the world successfully convinced them that what they’re doing is “important.”
That missing church “just this once” is harmless.
That skipping worship because you’re “tired” is understandable.
That serving God can wait.

But listen:

Hell will not announce its attack.
It will simply keep you busy until you slowly walk away from God without noticing.

Busy enough to miss church.
Busy enough to avoid ministry.
Busy enough to lose your fire.
Busy enough that you don’t even realize you’re backsliding.

And the devil laughs,
not because he destroyed you,
but because he distracted you.

Yet when life crashes,
when problems suffocate you,
when you feel empty, lost, broken,
guess who you run to?

The same God you kept pushing aside because you were “busy.”

“Seek FIRST the Kingdom of God…” (Matthew 6:33)
Not fifth.
Not last.
Not “if I have time.”
FIRST.

So here’s the rebuke:

Stop calling yourself too busy for God
when you’re fully available for everything else.

Stop skipping church for reasons you’d never dare use for work.
Stop treating worship like a chore.
Stop treating ministry like an interruption.
Stop treating God as if He should be grateful you even show up once a week.

One day,
you will stand before Him.
Your excuses won’t matter.
Your schedule won’t save you.
Your “busyness” won’t matter in eternity.

Serve Him now.
Seek Him now.
Show up now.
Because a faith that is always “busy”
will one day be a faith that is completely gone.

When healing comes, but gratitude doesn’t follow

Leprosy is more than a disease, it’s isolation, shame, and rejection…
The ten lepers were separated from their communities, living with fear and loneliness.
But when they encountered Jesus, everything changed.

And may mga panahon na we experience the same.
We carry invisible wounds, shame, or burdens that make us feel unworthy of love or healing.
We hide, we distance ourselves, we convince ourselves that maybe God’s touch will not reach someone like us.

But healing and restoration begin with faith and obedience.
Jesus told them to show themselves to the priests, and as they obeyed, they were cleansed.
They didn’t see the result immediately, yet their faith moved them to act.

📖 Luke 17:14
“And as they went, they were cleansed.”

Yet only one returned to thank Jesus.
Nine experienced the miracle, but only one remembered the Source.
And may mga panahon ganito tayo, when we already experience healing, blessing, and success, we forget to go back and thank the One who made it possible.
We enjoy the gift, but we forget the Giver.

Sometimes God asks us to take a step, even when it feels uncertain or uncomfortable.
Obedience and trust open the door for His miracle in our lives.

So don’t stay in your shame, in your fear, or in your isolation.
Step forward, trust Him, and let His grace touch every part of your life.

Because God’s healing and restoration are bigger than our wounds,
bigger than our doubts,
and bigger than what the world says is impossible.

Be the one who returns.
Be the one who remembers.
Be the one who thanks the Source…
