On July 30, 2026, the UCCP National Office Chapel witnessed a monumental transitionโ€”not merely a passing of the torch, but a deeply meaningful passing of the Being, Knowing, and Doing (CYF ABKD) of the NECโ€”as the incoming and outgoing CYF National Executive Committees gathered for their official turn-over. The event began with a deeply moving opening worship led by NCYF Chaplain Rev. Veronica Estayo, who honored the leaders' triumphs over past hardships. In a powerful symbolic gesture, officers participated in a washing of hands and sat on the floor, serving as a reminder to remain grounded and to faithfully journey alongside the anawim. This spiritual foundation set the tone for the initial transition orientation led by outgoing NCYF CEN Chairperson Mx. Jebert Sarsonas.

The focus then shifted to the sacred weight of leadership during the ABKD ng CYF orientation, facilitated by Youth Coordinator Rabbi Bayan Sanchez and Campus Ministry Volunteer Kathleen Joy Marjolino. They passionately emphasized the importance of kongkretong pagsusuri on the ground, challenging the new officers to ensure that the grassroots truly own every CYF program. This call to grassroots empowerment was complemented by strategic onboarding from Bp. Victor Paller, who aligned the youth's vision with the church's quadrennial program ministries, and a comprehensive finance orientation by National Treasurer Mr. Segundino Zantua Jr. that highlighted stewardship, budget processes, and the new national secretariat structure.

To balance the strategic orientations, the leaders engaged in afternoon group dynamics, the NYAC Assessment, and an evening team-building session facilitated by Ms. Kristine Kate Berdin. The following day, Patrick Joshua Santos presented the newly approved program thrusts, ensuring the youth's action plans were seamlessly aligned with the national church's goals. This structured preparation was crucial for equipping the leaders to handle the pressing societal realities discussed during the subsequent National Situationer, which was led by Rabbi Bayan and Kathleen Joy after an emergency prevented Ms. Marielle Angelique Gorospe from facilitating.

This critical discussion confronted the environmental, political, and cultural threats facing the nation today, particularly regarding foreign influences, land grabbing, and the alarming plans surrounding Pax Silica. Moved by these realities, the NEC immediately began formulating a unified statement to address these issues, encouraging other jurisdictions to take a prophetic stand as well. The transformative turn-over officially concluded with a meaningful Solidarity Night, where the newly equipped, aligned, and deeply grounded leaders creatively presented their takeaways, ready to serve the youth and the church.

The Youth Week Celebration Guide is finally here!

We acknowledge and sincerely apologize for its delayed release. Thank you for your patience, grace, and understanding as we continue learning what faithful and accountable leadership looks like.

Youth Week is more than a date on the calendar. This guide is a resource for our churches, and we encourage every conference and local church to celebrate in ways that best fit your context, even beyond the suggested schedule.

May this year's celebration continue to inspire young people to live out their faith, embody Christ's love, and participate in God's mission of justice, peace, and the integrity of creation.

Happy Youth Week! ๐Ÿ’š
