New Mission Church

New Mission Church New Mission Church is one of the first fruits of God's grace in the Philippines. To GOD be the highest glory.

The mission has been founded by our Lolo Pastor (Moksanim Park Jongsoo and samonim Jung Hyeran). Through this mission, a faithful servant of God has been raised in the soul of Pastor Aiza. Since its founding (12), its mission has expanded to the different parts of the Philippines (to name a few: Kalinga, Mindoro, La Union, Nueva Vizcaya, Calaguas and parts of Baguio- Irisan Dumpsite, Mangitit-Mont

icello-CNS Camp 7). Its main goal is to remind the people of God's faithfulness and grace through our history in the Bible and through testifying with one another God's great work in each life. Thank you to all the people and missionaries who are part, who were part, who have been part, and who will become part of this mission. WHERE WE HAVE BEEN AND WHERE WE ARE GOING ARE ALL PART OF GOD'S great plan for HIS KINGDOM.

Mission Story

It Was a Difficult, Yet Joyful Five Days

Last week, from Thursday (July 9) to Monday (July 13), a team of 15 young adults from Dangam Church, together with Pastor Kim Jae-hyun, visited our mission field for a 3-night, 5-day mission trip.

I had suggested that they come during the dry season to avoid the heavy rains, but because it was difficult to adjust everyone's schedules, we decided to proceed despite our concerns about the weather.

As expected, our worries became even greater. During that exact period, a large typhoon, Typhoon Bavi, formed in the Pacific near Guam. Weather forecasts predicted that it could head toward northern Luzon, where Baguio is located.

Having served as missionaries in the Philippines for 15 years, I have experienced several powerful typhoons in Baguio and witnessed the devastating damage they caused in many other places. It immediately became an emergency situation in my heart.

For two months, our mission team had been preparing through prayer. Airline tickets had already been purchased. We had prepared supplies to distribute, contacted every church and ministry site, arranged worship services, sent meal expenses, and reserved accommodations and two 15-seater vans with drivers. Much of the mission budget had already been spent.

At that point, I simply could not bring myself to say, "Let's postpone the mission trip."

Instead, I suggested only one thing:

"Let's pray."

We prayed,

"Lord, please remove Typhoon Bavi, weaken it greatly, or turn it far away from us."

For the next seven days, I prayed almost without ceasing. From the moment I woke up until I fell asleep, I constantly checked every weather report and every update about the typhoon.

Then an amazing forecast appeared.

The predicted path suddenly changed. Instead of heading toward the Philippines, the typhoon turned northeast over the sea, moving toward Taiwan and China. Meteorologists explained that strong warm winds from the west had pushed the storm away.

Even then, we remained cautious.

My wife reminded me, "It's only a forecast."

Still, I said to her,

"We've seen God work through weather countless times during our 40 years of ministry and missions."

So we continued to pray that the forecast would become reality.

Then another unexpected event happened.

On the very day our mission team left Korea, at around 2:30 p.m. in Baguio, a magnitude 4.5 earthquake struck.

With a loud booming sound, the four-story building where we live shook violently from side to side.

In my 70 years of life, I had never experienced anything like it.

I couldn't even scream. My face simply turned pale.

I could only whisper,

"Oh Lord... Oh God..."

The mission team was arriving that very night, and everyone says that aftershocks can sometimes be even more frightening than the main earthquake.

After nearly 15 hours of travel, the team finally arrived safely at 4:00 a.m. on Friday.

I almost cried as I welcomed them.

By God's grace, we completed the entire mission schedule, making only small adjustments along the way.

Although we experienced many heavy rain showers from the outer bands of the typhoon, there were no destructive storms.

There were also no aftershocks.

Praise the Lord!

The young people from Dangam Church were truly wonderful.

They traveled five hours on winding mountain roads to reach the coastal mission area, despite many suffering from motion sickness.

Together, we visited three churches, made home visits to two families, and spent all day Sunday in a youth camp with our NMC church young adults.

Everywhere we went, they led worship, prayed passionately, blessed people, and distributed rice, snacks, and school supplies.

They gladly ate unfamiliar local food, endured constant rain, accepted simple accommodations and basic restroom facilities without complaint.

Because of the weather, we had to cancel horseback riding and surfing, but no one complained.

Instead, they wholeheartedly embraced the local believers, generously shared what they had, and showed Christ's love in every place we visited.

They even gave love offerings to the families we visited and to the local pastors.

Despite their limited English, they eagerly communicated, worshiped together, danced together, laughed together, and enthusiastically participated in every activity and game.

The sound of joyful laughter from Koreans and Filipinos filled every place we visited.

Watching quietly from the side, Pastor Kim Jae-hyun was so moved that he personally bought 50 ice creams for the children out of his own pocket.

Amen.

Yesterday morning we received the wonderful news that the team had safely arrived back at Incheon Airport.

Our faithful ministry partners, Eric and Cecil, who had traveled 18 hours by car lived with us for nearly two months to help during this ministry, were preparing to return home as well.

So my wife and I took them out for one last meal together.

It was still raining.

As I stepped outside wearing only a short-sleeved shirt, my wife smiled and said,

"Aren't you going to wear a jacket? After spending a few days with all those young people, you must think you've become ten years younger!"

We both laughed.

Some people question whether short-term missions are worthwhile.

But we witnessed once again how powerful they truly are.

Short-term missions bring practical help, encouragement, comfort, and the love of Jesus across cultures and nations. They allow believers to experience what it truly means to be one body in Christ.

In our case, sixteen people accomplished together what would normally take my wife and me much longer to do alone. It felt like a shower of God's grace poured out upon every place we visited.

During the team's final sharing time, several young people said:

"We came to give a little, but we are leaving having received so much."

"I learned how to truly praise God."

"I was deeply moved by the generosity and hospitality of people who have so little."

"While praying during our home visits, I couldn't stop my tears."

On the way to the airport, I thanked Pastor Kim for all his hard work.

He quietly replied,

"Missionary, thank you. I have seen so much and learned so much here."

"People who have lost their first love for God should come to the mission field."

Then he said words I will never forget:

"We came to do missions, but instead, we ourselves were ministered to."

We said goodbye with the promise,

"We'll meet again soon. Let's continue praying for one another."

As I think about the spiritual fruit that will continue to grow both in our local church and in the lives of these young missionaries, I am overwhelmed with gratitude.

It wasn't simply that spending time with young people made me feel ten years younger.

It was the burning joy of witnessing God's faithfulness throughout this entire mission journey that made me forget to wear a jacket.

Finally, I would like to sincerely thank Senior Pastor Han Seung-hee for sending this mission team, Pastor Kim Jae-hyun for faithfully leading and caring for the young people like an older brother, and every member of the mission team who gave so generously with joyful hearts.

Since horseback riding and surfing had to be canceled because of the weather, my wife and I decided to use the remaining mission funds to help support the education expenses of our church's young people.

This short-term mission came with many worries.

But it brought even greater joy.

Thank you to everyone who faithfully prayed for us and supported this mission with your love.

May God bless you abundantly.

Activity :

Mission Story ✨️✨️

Last Saturday, my wife and I were invited to a party unlike anything we had experienced in our 15 years of missionary service.

The invitation came from a young woman in our church named Mercy.

Mercy lives in poverty with her husband, Jojo, who works as a laborer, and their four young children. Yet she faithfully serves by preparing meals for the young people who gather every Saturday for praise practice. She is a woman who willingly and quietly dedicates herself to serving others, often without being asked.

Usually, when we receive an invitation to a party here, it is almost always for a birthday celebration, since families highly value birthdays in this culture. Naturally, we assumed it was someone's birthday party.

But we were surprised to learn from Pastor Aiza that this gathering was for a very different reason.

Jojo had gone to the beach with some neighbors. While swimming, he suddenly stepped into a deep sand hole beneath the water and was swept farther out by the waves. Although he was a good swimmer, he found himself in grave danger and was close to drowning.

The people with him were unable to rescue him, so they urgently sought help from a marine rescuer. Just when Jojo was on the verge of death, he was saved through a life buoy and rope, then rushed to the hospital by ambulance. By God's grace, he survived.

Because of this, Mercy wanted to express her gratitude to God for giving her husband life once again. She organized a simple thanksgiving gathering and invited my wife and me, Pastor Aiza, and their neighbors.

Before the meal, Pastor Aiza, whose messages are always powerful, led a short worship service and strongly encouraged Jojo, saying:

"God has given you a second life. Realize this gift and return wholeheartedly to Him."

Afterward, we all joined together in prayer for Jojo.

During a time of sharing testimonies about what we had learned through this experience, I added my own story:

"Seven years ago, I suffered a stroke. Yet God gave me life again. Because of His grace, I can still love my wife, my children, and my grandchildren. I have also been able to return to the mission field with a renewed heart to serve all of you. For this, I am thankful, joyful, and truly happy."

Jojo, who had begun crying even as people prayed for him, said,

"Thank You, God, for giving me a second life."

Mercy wept. Their neighbors wept. Many of us were moved to tears together.

And then, the very next day, something beautiful happened.

Not only did Jojo come to worship, but four of the neighbors who had attended the thanksgiving gathering also came to our Sunday service.

Hallelujah!

As many of you know, the name Mercy means compassion or grace.

We give thanks and praise to God because His mercy, love, and grace have truly been poured out upon Jojo, his family, the neighbors who witnessed this miracle, and our church community.

Truly, all we can say is:

Amen! 🙏🙏

Mercy

" 하나님께서 the Second life를 주셔서 감사합니다."

Mission Story✨️

Last Sunday, we visited Baroro New Vision Church (BNVC), a small church in a poor seaside village about 2 hours and 30 minutes away, to celebrate its 1st anniversary.
About 12 of us went, including some young people who had always wanted to visit. The church members are very poor. Many of them used to live in simple houses made of bamboo, wood, and plastic sheets.

One day, a grandmother deaconess from a church in Korea saw photos of their living conditions that I shared online. She was deeply moved and decided to help build six clean homes for the families. Although the houses are small, they have two rooms, a kitchen, a living room, and an indoor bathroom.

One of the orange-colored houses was built with a slightly larger living room and became a house church in the center of the village.
We entrusted the ministry to Pastor Rendell and Pastor Tiffany, a dedicated husband-and-wife team serving nearby. Every Sunday afternoon, they travel to the village and faithfully minister there. It has now been one year since the church began.

The building is small, the congregation is not large, and both the church and the members are still very poor. But our hearts are full of gratitude because of Pastor Rendell’s passion, Pastor Tiffany’s sacrificial service, and the commitment of a few faithful young people.

After the thanksgiving service in the intense heat, everyone gathered outside and shared a simple local lunch they had prepared with great care. Some of the food was still unfamiliar to us, but we enjoyed it because we could feel their love in every dish.

Earlier that day, we had led our church service in Baguio at 11 a.m., then traveled to the village for the 3 p.m. anniversary service. After a five-hour round trip, we finally arrived home that evening.

Now that my wife and I are both 70 years old, we sat down on the sofa, tired and aching. I couldn't help but say,
"Honey, our bodies are definitely not what they used to be!" (Just ten years ago, we seemed to have endless energy! 😊)

But when I remembered the joyful faces of all the people we met that day, I thought,
"This is why missionaries do what they do."
Our hearts are filled with gratitude.
Thank you for God's grace, and thank you all for your prayers and support. God bless you!

Baroro New Vission Church

's 14th Anniversary

Not by Might, Not by Power, but by the Spirit of God (Zechariah 4:6)

We always remember that throughout the 14 years of our existence,God's Spirit made everything happen according to His will: From laying down the foundation, sustaining the church, and anointing leaders.

As we mark our 14th year, we lift up before God 3 appointed Deacons and 6 young leaders as workers in God's vineyard.

Also, we thank every spirit who genuinely prayed, served, supported and trusted the church - seen and unseen, great and simple, voluntary and assigned; in whatever ways, we praise God for all your lives.

Mission Story

Last Sunday, our church, New Mission Church, celebrated its 14th Anniversary Thanksgiving Service!

Over the years, we have gone through many challenges, but God has worked everything together for good. Hallelujah!

For the first time in 14 years, Pastor Aiza appointed three deacons who have been among the founding members of the church. She also appointed six ministry leaders for different departments.

And Pastor Aiza is now mentoring Assistant Pastor Cheryl. 😊

As for me, I simply preach occasionally and give the benediction.

Each department joyfully presented songs and dances, and several families worked hard to prepare a wonderful meal for everyone.
Our usual simple meal turned into a grand feast with seven delicious dishes, lechon kawali, drinks, cake, and many other foods.
When all the women from the Women's Mission Ministry came forward and sang "Salamat Sa Iyo, Panginoon" ("Thank You, Lord"), a song we have learned and sung for over 15 years, tears filled my eyes.

Indeed, everything is by God's grace.
My wife and I renewed our commitment to spend the remaining years of our lives serving the Lord, helping those in need, following His leading, and sharing His blessings until the end.

Thank you very much for all your prayers and support.

To God be all the glory!

(New Mission Church)

The old is Gone, The New has come! (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Through faith, Christ' love made us dead to our old self and raise us to life, that we may no longer live according to flesh but Christ in us.

During the prayer meeting, we had the birthday celebration of the son of Sis Linda. With the family's desire to offer this celebration by having a simple worship service, we are always grateful that we can serve the family especially the birthday celebrant with love, singing words of God, and prayer.

In this special moment we remember that as we age, we carry our new self before the Lord. Aging is a reminder of God's faithfulness into our lives - his wonderful work in our lives brought not by what we can give, do or what we have, but based on the eternal love of Jesus for all of us.

May we allow ourselves to embrace and anticipate God's wonderful work in our lives as we embrace additional years in our lives. Indeed, we are no longer ourselves but may we always live in Christ.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Blessed birthday to Jhon, our dear brother in Christ! The Lord bless you and keep you. May His light shine upon you today and more years to come.
Thankful for the delicious food warm welcome.
Glory to God!
Mission Story✨️
"Expect nothing, and support others unconditionally."
During about 15 years of missionary life with my wife (samonim), this was the first short-term mission trip. It went like this...
From May 27 to May 30, it was officially a four-day trip, but in reality, it felt like two nights and four days because of the long travel time.
About 40 years ago, when I started my first ministry in Seongnam, Pastor Kim Gu-ryong began his ministry in the same neighborhood at almost the same time. Now, he joined us on this mission trip.
We left Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, met Pastor Kim in Seongnam, and after a 13-hour journey, arrived in Baguio, Philippines, at 5:00 a.m.
After a short rest, we got up at 8:00 a.m., had a simple breakfast, and traveled another two and a half hours to a coastal mission area where we visited two churches.
Pastor Kim shared rice and snacks that he had prepared. He also invited the teachers and young adults who had served during last summer's Vacation Bible School to Jollibee, the Philippines' most famous fast-food restaurant, and treated everyone to a meal.
The weather was extremely hot, and we were all exhausted. We had planned to walk barefoot along the beach and enjoy a sunset dinner at a nice seaside restaurant, but we had to cancel those plans. Instead, we drove back to Baguio through a sudden heavy rainstorm. By the time we returned, everyone was exhausted. After dinner, we went home and fell asleep almost immediately.
My wife and I, our coworker Eric who drove the entire trip, his family, and Pastor Kim all said the same thing:
"Wow, this schedule is really tough!"
The next morning, Pastor Kim had to begin another 13-hour journey back to Korea that same night.
To help everyone recover from the fatigue, we went for a massage. Even though I insisted on paying, Pastor Kim would not allow it. He paid not only for himself but also for Eric and his wife.
That evening, we attended our church's Friday prayer meeting. Since it had been two months since I had last seen our church members, I wanted to bless them in some way.
Again, Pastor Kim generously provided rice and snacks for every family and even paid for dinner for the entire congregation.
For what was really only about a day and a half on the mission field, he poured out his time, energy, love, and resources wherever he went and to everyone he met.
Before leaving, he promised that he and his wife would return for a longer short-term mission trip in the future.
Two things he said stayed in our hearts:
"The Pastor Park I knew through his writings was only about 10% of who he is. After seeing the mission field and spending time talking with him, I came to know the other 90%."
And...
"So this is what it means—to expect nothing and simply support others behind the scenes."
Pastor Kim's short-term mission trip was a great encouragement not only to our church members but especially to my wife and me.
Glory to the Lord, and heartfelt thanks to Pastor Kim.
Thank you for taking the time to read this story.
"아무것도 바라지 말고,
조건없이 뒷 바라지 하라..!!^^"
약15년정도 아내와 선교사의 삶을 사는동안 이런 단기선교는 처음이었습니다...!!!
지난 5월27일(목)~30일(토)
숫자로는 4일이지만 실제로는 2박4일 인데요...
거의 40년전 성남에서 제가 첫 목회를 시작할 때 같은 동네에서 거의 동시에 목회를 시작했던 김구룡목사님이 저희와 함께
27일 밤 비행기로 선교지에 들어 왔습니다...
경기도 광주에서 출발 성남에서 김목사님을 만나 13시간 걸려
선교지 바기오에 28일 새벽 5시에 도착 했는데요..
잠시 눈을 붙이고 오전 8시에 기상 한 후,
대충 아침식사를 하고 2시간 30분 떨어진 바닷가 선교지로 달려가
두 교회를 방문했습니다..!!
김목사님이 준비하신 쌀과 과자를 나누고 지난 여름성경학교 때 수고한 교사들과 청년들을 필리핀에서 가장 유명한 페스트 후드 점 졸리비로 초대해서 전원 식사를 대접했습니다...
진짜 너무 덥고, 급하게 몸들이 힘들어져서요..ㅠㅠ
바닷가 맨발 걷기와 꽤 고급 바닷가 식당에서 우아하게 Sunset 보며 저녁식사하려던 계획을 포기하구요..
얼른 바기오로 다시 2시간30분을 갑자기 닥친 폭우를 뚫고 돌아와 멍멍한 상태로 그래도 꽤 괜찮은 저녁을
먹고 (그런데 이번 식사도 극구 김목사님이 감당했습니다..ㅠ)
집에 돌아 와 쓰러지듯 잠을 청했습니다..!!
우리 부부, 모든 일정 운전했던 동역자 에릭의 3식구 그리고 김목사님 모두 이구동성으로
" 와.. 이건 너무 힘든
일정이다.!!"
비명이 나왔습니다.
금요일 아침이 됐습니다..
오늘 밤에 김목사님은
다시 13시간 걸려 돌아가야 합니다..
모두의 몸에 쌓인 피로를 풀어주기 위해 큰 맘 먹고 마사지 받으러 갔는
이것은 꼭 제가 대접하겠다고 해도, 어림없다고 하며 에릭부부의 몫까지 전부 또 또 김목사님이 내셨습니다...!!
저녁에 마지막 일정으로 계획된 우리교회 금요기도회 참여해서 저도 2개월 만에 만나는 성도들이기에 반가운 마음에 뭐라도 주고 싶었는데요...
모든 가정마다 쌀나눔과 과자나눔 그리고 전교인 저녁식사까지 전부를 또 또 또 김목사님이 선뜻 감당 하셨습니다..!!!
정확한 계산으로 1.5박 4일을 강행군하며.
방문하는 곳마다, 만나는 성도들 마다, 모든 식사와 휴식 때마다 말 그대로 몰빵으로 시간과 몸, 마음과 물질을 쏟아 붓고
다시 사모님과 함께 더 길게 머무는 단기선교 올 것을 굳게 약속하시면서 고국을 향하셨습니다...!!
그런데요..
김목사님이 남기신 두마디 말씀이 저희 부부에게 남았습니다...
" 제가 글을 통해 박목사님을 알던 부분은 빙산의 일각 10% 이었구요.. 선교현장을 보며 많은 대화를 통해서 나머지 90% 를 알게 되었습니다~!!"
"바라지 말고 뒷바라지 하는
거로군요~~!!"
이번 김목사님 '홀로 단기선교' 는 저희 성도들만이 아니라
특히 저희 부부에게 너무도
큰 위로와 격려가 되었습니다...!!!
주님께 영광..
김목사님께 감사드립니다..!!
긴 글 읽어주셔서 감사합니다 ~~!!^^
The Spirit of God in Us (Romans 8:1-17)
Truly enough, our flesh fails us. It is weak on its own. Without God's Spirit, we live under the shadows of sin and death. But with God's Spirit, we are made alive. We are set free from sin and death. The weakness of this flesh is overcome by God's Spirit in us making us live with strength and hope.
Those who live according to flesh desires flesh and the world, but those who live according to God's Spirit desires Spirit. Under the flesh, we keep on desiring temporary things that can never satisfy us. However, in the Spirit of God, we are made to desire, hunger and seek more of God's grace in our lives. God's Spirit makes us want to dive in more of knowing and opening our lives for God to pe*****te.
Also, while living under the flesh, many people keep on seeking a place here on earth - to be accepted and be on special spot. However, those who live under the Spirit of God only seek one special position and identity - that is to be called children of God. As God's Spirit lives in us, we were adopted into sonship that we may call Him "Abba, Father" and be known as His children.
May we all put into our hearts that the Spirit of God who lives in us makes us alive even when our flesh is weak, builds in us the desire to dive closer to God, and gives us the identity as God's children.
# special thanks to our visitor, Pastor Kim for sharing his life, prayers and blessings to us.
All Glory to God alone!
"Away from the Body, at Home with the Lord" (2 Corinthians 5:8)
Apostle Paul boasts on things he had suffered from different circumstances (2 Corinthians 11). For him, grace is sufficient in his weaknesses.
As a back up singer in the praise team, Bro. Clinton had so much sacrifices unknown to many. Their house is really far from the church. Whenever he joins Saturday practices it is expected that he will reach home late at night.
Sometimes, because of his meekness, he would pretend to sleepover to a friend's house simply because he did not want to be a burden to the church, then secretly walks in the dark for an hour only after all members of the team had gone home.
Hearing this testimony breaks my heart for the things we cannot fully provide to all the faithful servants because of our limited resources; but at the same time, this made me praise God for a faithful soul who is willing to walk the miles from home to church just to do their best for the Lord.
Just like this, to suffer for Christ is gain. We may choose to be away from the body, to sacrifice for awhile, and try our best to serve God in our weaknesses. What do we gain? It's spiritual strength, its maturity in the service, and deeper purpose of our life.
For this, we salute all humble servants out there. Others may not know the little sacrifices you do and may not appreciate the things you do, but our Almighty God sees everything. The Lord sees our weaknesses and sacrifices and surely repays them according to His richness.
In prayer and Faithfulness, may we always choose to be home with the Lord at all times.
Jesus be praised in the lives of humble servants!.
