As a pastor, some sundays I am deeply grieved—

I’ll hear complaints that the sanctuary is too hot or cold. That the chairs are uncomfortable. That the service ran too long. The music wasn’t their style. The kids’ ministry didn’t have enough activities. The coffee wasn’t their favorite. There weren’t enough people “like them.” They didn’t feel connected.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, a group of believers gathers in a jungle clearing under pouring rain. They’re singing with joy—no chairs, no sound system, no air conditioning. Just a passion for Jesus.

Somewhere else, underground churches are whispering hymns for fear of being discovered. In a desert village, believers walk miles barefoot for a two-hour gathering around a hand-dug firepit.

No one’s clock-watching. No one’s checking for padded pews. They’re just thankful to be together.

And maybe that’s the real tragedy.

We have more resources than any generation before us—Bibles, buildings, music, budgets. But we are poor in joy. Discontent in our comfort. Numb in a culture of spiritual excess.

We shop for churches like we shop for shoes—style, fit, comfort. But the early church didn’t gather for convenience. They gathered out of desperation. They didn’t need stage lights or skinny jeans. They needed Jesus. And they were willing to face prison or death for the joy of being with other believers, singing praises to the one true King, JESUS!

So while we complain about thermostats, others are risking their lives for Christ. While we sit surrounded by resources, they worship with none.

Maybe the room isn’t too cold. Maybe our hearts are.

Think about it!

Honoring our parents doesn’t mean they were perfect—it means we choose grace over resentment.

The believers must cultivate spiritual discernment to identify and avoid false prophets. Believers should look beyond appearances and evaluate teachings against the truth of God's word. Wolves have the ability to disguise themselves as sheep, appear as authentic, be well-versed in the scriptures, and be sensitive to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Don't be fooled by emotions, they can lead you astray.

Discernment is essential ☝️

BAD HABITS YOU MUST AVOID IN CHURCH

1. Constant lateness to Church services and meetings. It proves that your love for God and the things of the Kingdom has grown cold. Wake up before it is too late. Some people have this as an unbreakable habit.

2. Refusing to sit where the ushers direct you to sit. It's a sign of Pride.

3. Always running out to pick calls with your phone ringing out so loud. Switch off or mute your phone as soon you get to Church.

4. Chatting and receiving calls during Church service. It shows where your heart, your values, and priorities are.

5. Chewing gum or sleeping in Church during the sermon. Remember the Church is neither a cinema hall nor a hotel. Please show reverence to your Maker.

6. Sitting down during Prayer or Worship session without any medical or health reasons. This makes you look very odd and unspiritual.

7. Always looking at the Church clock or your wristwatch during Church hours insinuating that the Church should close.

8. Chatting and playing games on your phone during Church service. It shows you are not spiritual.

9. Always leaving the Church before closure or Benediction for no particular appointment, making others who choose to stay till the end of service feel they don't know what to do with their time.

10. Gathering outside the Church with other members to gossip or discuss unspiritual things while service is going on.

11. Folding your hands when your Pastor is preaching. You are telling him that what he is preaching is not worth listening to.

12. Children running around in Church as if it’s a playground. Parents refuse to discipline their children and make them sit in one place.

13. Staring at every beautiful girl you see and making them feel uncomfortable.

14. Exiting the Church like a herd of cattle. No order and discipline.

15. Borrowing things like phone chargers, pens, etc, and leaving with them claiming you forgot.

16. Coming to Church only for communion or to hear a special guest speaker preach. Some do not attend the service but take communion.

17. Not attending the service when the Pastor has gone to another place for preaching. We worship the Pastor more than the Creator.

18. Not using your talents and gifts for the Church as you don't have time for the Kingdom of God.

19. Always daydreaming when Pastor is preaching but pretending to listen by staring at his face.

📌Colossians 3:17 KJV
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

My Beloved In Christ,
Kindly try to lead by example with good character and attitudes.

Let's honor God with Reverence and Holiness in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

IF YOU DON'T LIKE YOUR PASTOR.

They don’t quit because they have a lack of faith in God. They don’t quit because they don’t believe in the calling God has placed on their life. Most don’t even quit because of financial reasons.

Pastors quit because they are overwhelmed with mental exhaustion.

Until you’re a Pastor you’ll never fully understand what it’s like to carry spiritual burdens for people getting up in the middle of night, praying for your family of faith, awakened in the middle of night with someone on your heart, overwhelmed with concern by a persons absence or distance.

His mind is continually occupied with the presentation of the upcoming Sunday message - how to preach it, what to teach on, how do we apply it?

He is getting critiqued on a continual basis, being told you need to do better or that some areas of the church simply need to be better.

PASTORS: invest their whole life into people and yet people will turn their backs on their pastor at the first sign of a storm, usually without a conversation.

PASTORS: stand in the middle of disputes.

PASTORS : stand in the middle of gossip.

PASTORS : counsel marital conflicts or broken marriages.

PASTORS : comfort those who have suffered loss.

PASTORS : navigate the waters of imperfect people with a desire to see each one thrive in their faith. They long for spiritual breakthroughs.

PASTOR : craves the very best for you. All of this, while trying to battle their own flesh and grow in their own relationship with God.

PASTORS : see the posts.

PASTORS : hear the whispers.

PASTORS endure the negativity.

PASTORS are continually caring for the sheep while fending off the wolves. ☕️

PASTORS : pour out and pour out - rarely being poured into.

What keeps a faithful Pastor going?

Primarily, his motivation not to quit comes from the love of Christ, the guarantee of our body’s resurrection and the day of reckoning at the Judgement Seat of Christ… 2 Cor. 5:1-21

Secondarily, it is YOU…

YOU - the person who is genuinely hungry.

YOU - the person who worships with passion and freedom. You - the teenager who is striving to be a follower of Jesus.

YOU - the single mom who understands the beauty of the hope found in Christ.

YOU - the one who walks through the door for the first time because you’re in search of peace, hope, and community.

Pray for your Pastor.

Pray for his wife.

Pray for his children.

Serve with your Pastor.

Talk with your Pastor.

Appreciate your Pastor.

Encourage your Pastor.

They are human.

They need you more than you think.

𝗕𝗘𝗧𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗡 𝗠𝗔𝗡 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗚𝗢𝗗

1. We go to work early,
but we come to church late
God is keeping time.

2. We beg our boss when we err
but threaten to leave the church
whenever there is
misunderstanding.
God is all seeing.

3. We work hard to be promoted at work
but treat the work of God with levity.
God is not mocked.

4. We pay all our dues in the workplace
but refuses to pay tithe in the church.
Spiritual robbers.

5. We buy costly things for our boss to
get a favor, but we can't even buy
airtime for the pastor.

6. When we are not going to be in the
office we take permission ahead from
our superior, but expect the pastor to
pay us visits when we miss a Church
without notice.

7. We fear and respect our bosses more
than God.

8. When we are sick, we manage to get to
work but skip church at the slightest
excuse.

9. We take an official query serious
but take rebukes in church with disdain.

10. We correct our colleagues in workplace
but cannot correct brethren sins.

11. We turn off our phones duringofficial
meetings but we disturb God's service
with different phones' ringtones.

12. We can work overtime at work,
but complain seriously about hours
spent in the Church!!!

We need to re-assess our lives to conform to
God's standards.

He is watching us daily and everything we do. Be better this 2024.

James 4:17 KJV
Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
