To think like Jesus means to be willing to forgive the people who have hurt you.

Even on the cross, Jesus forgave. In Luke 23:34 he says of the people who tortured and hung him there, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” (NIV).

Who has hurt you the most in life? Who are you holding a grudge against? What pain are you holding on to because you cannot forgive?

The Bible says in Romans 15:1, “We must bear the ‘burden’ of being considerate of the doubts and fears of others” (TLB).

We all have fears and doubts. Acceptance means you listen to others’ fears and doubts. When people have doubts about God, you need to first listen and show that it doesn’t change your love or acceptance. Why? Because this is how God loves us.

When we doubt, God’s love does not change. When we are fearful and unwilling to trust, God still accepts us. This is how he wants us to love other people.

Loving like Jesus means you accept other people the way Jesus accepts you. And when his love flows through you, it’s possible for you to love others unconditionally.

“… let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus.’ Hebrews 12:1-2

1 Peter 1:13 tells us exactly how to do this in very practical terms:

– Prepare your mind. Keep scripture fresh in your thoughts.
– Be self-controlled. Pay attention to where your focus lies.
– Set your hope fully on the grace to be give you when Jesus Christ is revealed.

Let’s receive the grace offered to us on a daily basis, knowing that the trials of life are not the enemy. Rather the enemy is the choice of becoming lost in the trail and failing to grasp the grace held out to us daily to sustain us through the trial.

So let’s run with the grace given to us for today, and trust God with the tomorrows of our lives. His grace will meet us when we get to tomorrow.

PNP KASIMBAYANAN NATIONAL CONGRESS BRINGS TOGETHER VOLUNTEERS FOR NATION-BUILDING

The Philippine National Police (PNP) commends the facilitators, organizers, and participants for the successful 2-day KASIMBAYANAN Volunteer National Congress on March 30-31, 2023, with the theme “Transition of KASIMBAYANAN Community Transformation into Nation-Building”.

The event was attended by thousands of community volunteers, faith-based leaders, government officials, and PNP personnel in 17 regions across the country.

The PNP KASIMBAYANAN program marks the synergetic partnership between the police force, religious group, and community, aimed at achieving a comprehensive transformation for both the PNP and the community it serves.

Atty. Juan Victor Llamas, Undersecretary for External Legal and Legislative Affairs, represented Atty. Benjamin C. Abalos Jr., the Secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), as the Guest of Honor and Speaker at the event.

During the two-day congress, participants engaged in various activities aimed at promoting nation-building. They also shared their experiences and success stories in transforming their communities, with a focus on replicable models that can be applied in other areas.

In his message, Atty. Llamas expressed his appreciation for the Kapulisan, Simbahan, and Pamayanan's efforts toward nation-building. He emphasized the importance of community involvement in nation-building and urged everyone to continue working together towards a better and stronger nation.

“As we look ahead to the future of our country, nation-building must start at the grassroots level. The work that you do in your respective communities even up to the smallest barangays is essential to building a stronger and more prosperous Philippines. It is through our collective efforts that we can create a more inclusive and equitable society, where every Filipino has the opportunity to succeed”, Usec Llamas said.

Meanwhile, PNP Chief Police General Azurin in his message presented the challenge of promoting unity, cooperation, and progress among KASIMBAYANAN Volunteers and advocates.

“Let us take up this challenge with courage and determination by working together to build a stronger and more resilient Philippines - one where the rule of law is upheld, where our communities are safe and secure, and where all Filipinos can thrive and prosper”, PGen Azurin expressed.

Other esteemed guests present during the national event were Hon Francisco Javier Zamora, Mayor of San Juan City, Hon Benedicta B Taiozun, Municipal Mayor of San Francisco, Southern Leyte, Bishop Jonel Milan, Chairman, Philippine Campus Crusade for Christ, Bishop Vincent Vincencio, President, Better Philippines Movement/Christian Coalition Movement, Bishop Noel A Pantoja, National Director, National Director of Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches, Inc., and (Ret) PLtGen Cesar Hawthorne Binag, President, Christians for Nation-Building.

What will your hands be busy with today?
Do you feel grateful for the tasks at hand? Is there joy in doing what’s on your list today?

Many of us just hurry from one thing to the next. Delays frustrate us and people who aren’t directly related to our tasks can annoy us with their interruptions.

Pause in your thoughts for this one moment.

Thank God for the work ahead of you today in spite of what you would rather be doing.
You will be amazed at the change in your outlook as you focus on being thankful.

You are where you are today… that’s a reality. You can make choices to change that reality. The first choice is to choose a grateful attitude. It will widen the road you are on and bring a perspective that will lighten your step.

The prayer of the Psalmist is a good prayer to echo today,

“Establish the work of my hands, O Lord, establish the work of my hands.” (Psalm 90:17)

Heavenly Father, Right now I want to offer the work of my hands to You today. Help me to have a grateful attitude as I do what is in front of me today. May I give these tasks to You as my offering. I do them in Your name. Amen.
