Today, we celebrate the Ascension of Jesus Christ not as a moment of absence, but as a powerful reminder that our lives are meant for something far greater than the temporary struggles, fears, and distractions of this world. Christ ascended into Heaven to open its gates for us, to reign in glory, and to remind us that while we live on earth, our hearts are called upward toward God. In a world that often leaves people empty, anxious, wounded, and searching for meaning, the Ascension speaks hope to every soul: we were created not merely to exist, but to live in communion with God and to become witnesses of His love in the world. Jesus did not leave us orphaned; He remains with us through the Holy Spirit, the Holy Eucharist, and His Church, strengthening us to live holy, compassionate, courageous, and faithful lives. The Ascension is therefore not the end of Christ’s mission, but the beginning of ours. It is a call to rise above sin, hatred, hopelessness, and mediocrity, and to bring Christ’s light into our families, communities, workplaces, and everyday lives. Even as Christ ascended into Heaven, He continues to whisper to every heart: “Do not be afraid. I am with you always.” Blessed Ascension Sunday everyone. May we never stop longing for Heaven while faithfully serving God here on earth.

As we enter more deeply into the sacred silence, prayer, and reflection of Lent, especially during this most holy time of Holy Week, let us come together as one community and fix our hearts on Jesus. In these blessed days, the Church invites us not only to remember the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Christ, but also to truly open our hearts to conversion, repentance, prayer, sacrifice, and renewed faith.

To help us become more spiritually attuned during this Holy Week, we warmly invite everyone to tune in to the SOLCC Baguio page each evening at 8:15 PM, from Holy Thursday to Black Saturday. Let us journey together in prayer, reflection, and listening to God’s voice through the sharings of our speakers. As one family in Christ, let us band together, grow together, and allow the Lord to speak to us in a special way during these sacred days.

Here is our Holy Week reflection schedule—

April 2 (Holy Thursday)
Family Discipleship – Bro. Bot Balbero

April 3 (Good Friday)
The Disciplines of Lent – Bro. Jun Hio

April 4 (Black Saturday)
Who Then Can Be Saved? – Bro. George Bersabe

This Holy Week, let us not allow these sacred days to pass like ordinary days. Let us spend time with the Lord. Let us reflect more deeply on His great love, His sacrifice on the Cross, and the hope of salvation He offers to each one of us. In a world full of noise, distractions, and busyness, may we choose to pause, pray, listen, and return to the heart of God. ❤️

Come, let us walk with Jesus through His Passion, so that we may also share in the joy and victory of His Resurrection. Let us invite our family, friends, and loved ones as well, so that together we may experience a more meaningful, prayerful, and grace-filled Holy Week.

See you all online on the SOLCC Baguio page at 8:15 PM.

May the Lord bless us, renew us, and draw us closer to His Heart this Holy Week. 🙏✨

As we join the Church in celebrating Palm Sunday, may we not only wave our palms in remembrance of Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem, but more importantly, live out its message in our daily lives. May we welcome Jesus into our hearts with humility, walk with Him in faith, and remain steadfast in love, obedience, and sacrifice even through life’s trials.

May this Palm Sunday remind us that true discipleship is not only shown in moments of praise, but also in our willingness to follow Christ all the way—through joy, suffering, and ultimately, hope in His promise of salvation.

Lent is a sacred season—a time to return to the Father, to humbly embrace our brokenness, and to allow His boundless mercy to heal what has been wounded and restore what has been lost. It is a holy invitation from the Church—extended to clergy and laity alike, to the young and the old—to enter more deeply into the profound mystery of Christ’s suffering, death, and resurrection.

May this heartfelt rendition of Psalm 34 serve as a powerful reminder that the LORD is indeed close to the brokenhearted. As we journey through the desert of our own trials this Lent, may this psalm become a song of hope in the silence, a balm for weary hearts, and a gentle call to trust in God's saving love.

Let the Word stir your soul. Let the music move your spirit. And let this Lent be the beginning of your healing.

🎶 Watch. Reflect. Share. Be transformed.
