Mother knows Best

Text : Exodus 2:1-10

A mother who knows best...

1.Starts in Faith

-Our Faith teaches us what to do during life testing moments.
-If you have Faith, you wont be shaken by life's hardship.
-Our Faith makes us remain standing on our safe ground.
-Moses' mom had Faith and that's what made her think what's the best for her son.
-A Mother's greatest blessing is her children and she would do everything to keep them safe.
-In a mother's life,God should be the number 1, and children should only come next ,Let God always be in control.
-Faith gives us wisdom to control our emotions and to think what's the best in every situation.

A mother who knows best sees a ...

Goodly child

(When Jochebed's (Moses' mother) son was born, she saw that he was a goodly child. Goodly, in the Hebrew, is tobe and it means good, beautiful, best, better, bountiful, cheerful, etc. She saw that God, her heavenly Father, had something special for her child)

-A mother who has faith sees a goodly child and she deals with her children like they have a great potential in the future.
-A mother finds ways to help her child grow and optimize his/her potentials.
-Moses's mom saw that he would be a goodly child.
-There is no child that is useless. All children have potential and they should be nurtured.
-A mother should not only love to give favor to a child who excels academically. Real intelligence is not seen in academic achievements, but through understanding and application of knowledge to real-life situations.
-Hannah prayed to God that He grants her a child, and when God gave her Samuel , she offered him back to the Lord, Who made a him great prophet.

a. A mother takes good care of her children because they are from God and they are of God.
b.A mother nurtures her kids because she sees their potential .

A mother who knows best has...

2. Shelter to Protect

-A mother provides for her children's needs.
-A mother gives protection from danger.

-Moses' mom nursed him :

physically
spiritually
mentally
emotionally
socially

There was something that Moses' mom gave to her son that made her do all the things she had done for her son; time.

CONCLUSION:

Moses:

He was the one who had been given the 10
commandments.
He was the one who delivered the freedom to the Israelites from Egyptians.
The one who crossed the red sea

If you want to be a mother that births children like Moses, give your children what Moses's mom gave to her child ; Time. Time to nurture them physically, spiritually and emotionally, time to provide for your children's needs and a time to protect their shelter and make them safe.

If you are a child who wants to be like Moses, whom God used for His great plans, ; respect and honor your mother, for a Godly mother sees a goodly child in you, she prays for you, and she knows what's best for you.

"Train up a child in a way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it. "

|| Die to Live ||

John 14:24-26

1.Die From Sin - Romans 8:2

We're all bound to die because of sin.

We should die to be born again.

Jesus broke the shell of sin that covers us.

Jesus had made us free from the law of sin and death.

Jesus died because of our sins to let us live.

When Jesus took away our sin, it fled away from us forever.

2. Die to Self - Colossians 3:5

Sins God hates:

a. fleshy desires

~ Mortify fleshly desires, God hates fornicators.
~Lust is not Love, do not be confused.
~Do not fall into temptation, be careful with what you look at.
~Do not compromise.

b. uncleanliness

~No medication could cure uncleanliness
~Sodom and Gomorra were destroyed because God's wrath was upon uncleanliness

c. inordinate affection

~ Inordinate affection destroys our spirituality.
~It destroys your connection with God.
~It destroys your connection with your family.
~It deprives you the precious time you should be spending pleasing God.
~It makes you forget your role and purpose in the ministry.
~It makes you lazy to do service for God.

d. evil concupiscence

~Our selfishness would pull us down.
~Pleasing ourselves or pleasing others instead of pleasing God destroys spiritual life
~Making others persecute you because of living a Godly life earns you God's favor.
~He that makes friendship with the world is an enmity of God.

e.covetousness

~Consider God , first , in everything.
~Do not invest your life in worldly things, invest in your spirituality.
~God wants us to be a cheerful giver.
~God hates idolatry. We become Idolatrous when we don't recognize God's presence in our lives but recognize all the other things instead.

3. Die For Service - Matthew 16:24-25

He who likes comfort while doing the ministry shall lose it but he who denies himself and takes up His cross and follows Christ, finds it.

We should deny ourselves to follow God.

We cannot serve the flesh and the spirit at the same time. We must choose one .

We surrender our lives in service to God, then to see the fruits of our service.

Conclusion: Jesus broke the shell of sin that covers us by giving His life to let us live. We must surrender the sins that anger God such as ; our fleshly desires, uncleanliness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence,and covetousness. Live a Godly life to earn God's favor. Lastly, We must surrender our lives to serve God fully and must have a fruitful Christian life. Only then, we get to have God's favor, His protection, a stronger and fruitful spirituality,and most of all , we get to live a meaningful life.

The Challenge : In the name of Jesus Christ, Would you Die to live? Do you dare to make a difference?

|| Congratulations! ||

Mathew 26: 15-30

1. Rights (The Authority/ Power to be God's children) 2 Cor 5:17

We are The Master's servants and He gave us rights/power/authority to become the Child of God.

Whoever that is in Christ becomes His servants.

We have not only become servants of God but also a steward of God.

We were once Satan's slaves, bound to hell, but God's love made us His children, and that is the best privilege that we ever have.

As a steward, we ought to pray because only God knows what to do with his stewardship.

2. Responsibilities -(The gifts/talents God has given His children) 2 Timothy 1:6

The Master gave His servants time to figure out and use their talents.

The longer we serve God, the stronger and better our God's given talents become.

God wants us to use your abilities to do His work.

Since we have been saved, God has been giving us time to take responsibilities of the talents that He gave us.

God has given us time to keep improving our bestowed talents that even in our darkest and most difficult times, we strive.

3. Recognition (Acknowledgement of the Master )

a. They abound materially
b. The Master promoted them and made them from servants to rulers.
c. The Master had given them the joy to have a place to live eternally.

The servants become excited to meet their Master because they have been faithful.

The Master recognized His servants and acknowledged what they had done.

As God's steward , we should remain faithful until Jesus comes.

Conclusion :

When we got saved, we become God's servants. We acquired the right to be His Children .He bestowed us talents and skills .And as His stewards, we were given responsibilities to use our heavenly skills and talents to do His will .

At times, we tend to be lazy and irresponsible, and that makes us disregard the talents that we have. We tend to be fearful and we have less faith , so we don't use our talents the way we should use them. The danger is when we have already figured out our talents but we don't let God use us .

We would only hear one statement from God. Either,
"Thou wicked and slothful servant". or "Well done thou good and faithful servant". As His stewards, May we choose to hear the latter and stay faithful until Jesus returns.

|| God's Recognition

Luke 10:38-42

1. Intimacy with God - ( God recognizes our fellowship with Him) -Philippians 3:7-10

Mary sat down with Jesus and she listened to His words.

Mary made time for Jesus and communicated with Him.

Between Martha and Mary, Mary chose to be near Jesus and have a fellowship with Him.

Mary prioritized Jesus among other things.

Peter left everything and chose to know Christ deeper and to have fellowship with Him .

God wants us to prioritize to have fellowship with Him.

2.Interest with God - (God recognizes our interest of Him ) Revelations 2:2-4

Our labor and conviction become nothing if we don't have the Love for Christ and loving Christ means showing more interest of Him more than anything else.

Martha left Jesus to do other things because she had more interest about other things.

We should love Him first, our labor come after.

Mary sat down with Jesus because she had more interest of Him -because we always want to be beside with someone that we have interest about.

3. Investment - (God recognizes our Eternal Investments) Matthew 6: 31-34

Christ saw that Martha worried about the future, Mary didn't, because she had invested everything to Jesus.

Our worries about tomorrow are what bring us trouble if already knew that God has the answer for everything we worry about.

This world gives us a lot of things to worry about but God Has promised us everything if we consider His Kingdom first.

God isn't interested of our worldly possessions, He is interested of our eternal investments.

God has already promised the future and all we have to do is to invest on it.

Lay not your treasures upon Earth but lay up your treasures in Heaven.

Conclusion : Sometimes we act like Martha. It is difficult to be intimate with God because of our wrong priorities in this modern world. We also set our interests on earthly things .We invest on worldly things instead of investing for our eternity because we worry about our future. Worrying is like a disease that doesn' t have an earthly cure . God recognizes our intimacy with Him. In order to be recognized by God, We have to be more interested of Him more than earthly things. Lastly, He recognizes every eternal investment we lay in Heaven. May we be like Mary; between her and Martha, Jesus said, "SHE CHOSE THE GOOD PART. "

Lord's Supper 2026

1 Corinthians 11: 22-30 KJV

22 What, have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the [e]church of God, and put them to shame that [f]have not? What shall I say to you? [g]shall I praise you? In this I praise you not.

23 For I received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which he was [h]betrayed took bread;

24 and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, This is my body, which [i]is for you: this do in remembrance of me.

25 In like manner also the cup, after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood: this do, as often as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink the cup, ye proclaim the Lord’s death till he come.

27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat the bread or drink the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.

28 But let a man prove himself, and so let him eat of the bread, and drink of the cup.

29 For he that eateth and drinketh, eateth and drinketh judgment unto himself, if he [j]discern not the body.

30 For this cause many among you are weak and sickly, and not a few sleep.
