Twenty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time

2026

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, help us to follow You faithfully by denying ourselves, taking up our crosses and walking in Your ways. Give us courage when the path of discipleship becomes difficult and strengthen us when we are tempted to turn away.

Teach us to surrender our desires to Your will and to seek what truly leads us closer to You.

May we never be ashamed of our faith, but boldly live as Your disciples through our words and actions.

Guide us each day toward eternal life as we follow You with humble and steadfast hearts.

Amen.

✨ Reflection
The Gospel reminds us that God responds to a faith that is humble, persistent, and trusting. Like the Canaanite woman, we may face delays, challenges, or moments when God seems silent. Yet Jesus teaches us to keep believing, for His mercy never fails. When we place our trust in Him, He strengthens our hearts and answers in His perfect time.

🙏 Prayer
Lord Jesus, teach me to trust You with unwavering faith. When I am discouraged, help me to persevere in prayer and never lose hope in Your love. Fill my heart with humility, patience, and confidence in Your promises. May my faith grow stronger each day as I follow You. Amen. 💖

Nineteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time | August 09, 2026

When life feels like a storm, fear can make us lose faith and doubt God’s presence. Today’s Gospel reminds us that Jesus is always with us, saying, “𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲, 𝗜𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗜; 𝗱𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗱.” Let us trust Him, even when the waves around us are strong.


𝗚𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗹: Matthew 14:22-33

After he had fed the people, Jesus made the disciples get into a boat and precede him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds. After doing so, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. When it was evening he was there alone. Meanwhile the boat, already a few miles offshore, was being tossed about by the waves, for the wind was against it. During the fourth watch of the night, he came toward them walking on the sea. When the disciples saw him walking on the sea they were terrified. "It is a ghost," they said, and they cried out in fear. At once Jesus spoke to them, "Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid." Peter said to him in reply, "Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water." He said, "Come." Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw how strong the wind was he became frightened; and, beginning to sink, he cried out, "Lord, save me!" Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand and caught Peter, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?" After they got into the boat, the wind died down. Those who were in the boat did him homage, saying, "Truly, you are the Son of God."
