Healthy boundaries begin when we understand what is ours to carry and what we need to surrender to God.
At the center of it all:
God first and most.
Ang Diyos ang una at higit sa lahat. When God is in His rightful place, we learn to relate to people without trying to control them, losing ourselves, or depending on them for what only God can provide.
So, how can we start?
• Start with your circle.
Stop waiting for someone to change.
Hindi natin kontrolado ang choices, attitude, o pagbabago ng ibang tao. We can encourage, love, and pray for them, but we cannot force someone to become the person we want them to be. Sometimes, healthy boundaries mean accepting what we cannot change and choosing how we will respond.
• Own your emotions.
Your feelings are real, but they are yours to take responsibility for. Hindi kailangang ibang tao ang mag-regulate o magdala ng emotions natin. We can acknowledge what we feel, bring it to God, and choose a healthy response.
• Build a healthy support system and community.
We are not meant to journey alone. Surround yourself with people who encourage you, respect your boundaries, and most importantly, point you back to Jesus.
Healthy boundaries help us love people without losing ourselves, serve without being drained, and care without trying to control.
When God is first, we learn how to love others from a healthy place. 🤍
