WHEN LIFE BECOMES HARD, WILL WE STILL FOLLOW GOD? 👣👣
“My life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned to me by the Lord Jesus.” — Acts 20:24
Grabe. Imagine saying those words and actually meaning them. That was the heart of Paul the Apostle. He knew things were going to get harder. He knew suffering was coming. But he still chose to follow Jesus. He didn’t run away. He didn’t quit. He stayed faithful.
If we're honest, we are not always like that.
Sometimes it’s easy to follow God when everything is okay—when we feel motivated, when prayers are answered, when life makes sense. It’s easy to say “Lord, I trust You” when things are going our way. But when things get hard—when we feel tired, confused, or discouraged—that’s when our faith is tested. That’s when we are tempted to step back, stay quiet, or choose comfort instead.
We live in a world where comfort is everything. We want easy, fast, and stress-free. Ayaw natin mahirapan. Ayaw natin masaktan. But following Jesus was never about comfort. It was always about trust.
Paul didn’t base his obedience on his feelings. He based it on his calling. He knew his life had a purpose bigger than his fears. He chose purpose over comfort. He chose obedience over ease.
This makes me ask myself: Will I still follow God when it’s inconvenient? Will I still trust Him when I don’t understand? Will I still say yes when it’s uncomfortable?
Because real faith isn’t proven when life is easy. Real faith is proven when life is hard—and you still choose God.
We may not know what our future looks like. We may face challenges, disappointments, and seasons where we feel weak.
But I pray that like Paul, you won’t give up. I pray that you will keep showing up, keep trusting, and keep following—even when it’s hard.
At the end of our life, we don’t want to say, “I chose comfort.”
We want to say, “I chose God.”
