As we celebrate the Ascension of the Lord and the Sixtieth World Communications Sunday 2026, the Diocese of Dumaguete SocCom stands united in the mission of bringing Christ to the world through the gift of communication.

The Gospel of Matthew reminds us that before Jesus ascended into heaven, He entrusted His disciples with a mission - to proclaim the Good News to all nations. Today, that mission continues through every camera, every story, every livestream, every post, and every message that spreads truth, hope, faith, and love.

Communication is not only about technology; it is about witnessing Christ in the modern world. As Jesus ascended, He did not leave us alone - He sent us to continue His mission with courage and faith.

May every communicator become a voice of truth, an instrument of peace, and a light that leads people closer to God.

As the Paschal candle is lit, it symbolizes Christ rising from the dead, bringing hope and new life to the world. This sacred night invites us to move from darkness to light, from fear to faith, and from death to new beginnings.

It is a moment to reflect that just as Jesus overcame the grave, we too are called to rise above our struggles and live renewed lives. The Vigil teaches us that no matter how long the night is, dawn will always come because Christ is our light.

The Sto. Entierro procession during Good Friday is a solemn reminder of the death of Jesus Christ. As we walk in silence, seeing His lifeless body, we are invited to reflect on the depth of His love and sacrifice for us.

In this moment, we are reminded that Jesus gave everything even His life so that we may be saved. The quiet procession speaks louder than words: it calls us to pause, to examine our hearts, and to remember that our sins also led to His suffering.

Yet, even in sorrow, there is hope. The darkness of Good Friday is not the end of the story. It prepares us for the joy of resurrection. The Sto. Entierro teaches us to trust God even in pain, knowing that love is stronger than death.
