Easter Sunday: The Resurrection of the Lord
Solemnity
Todayโs glorious solemnity is the ultimate cause of all joy, fulfillment, happiness, and glory. If Jesus only died on the Cross, destroying death, something would be missingโthe restoration of life into a transformed and glorified living. Easter is not only about the forgiveness of sins; it is about the temporal and eternal glorification of every human soul who dies and rises with Christ.
The Challenge of the Resurrection
We often think of the Cross as the "difficult" message and Easter as the "easy" one. But is it?
Beyond the Basics: Too often, we are satisfied with a basic understanding of the Gospelโthat Jesus died and rose so we can go to Heaven. But the saints (like Francis of Assisi and Thรฉrรจse of Lisieux) understood that the Resurrection calls us to something much deeper: a divine union starting here on earth.
The Infused Knowledge: To truly share in the Resurrection is to realize that even the smallest sin is foolishness and that earthly wealth is miserable compared to the prize of Christ. It is a call to a complete abandonment of oneโs life to the will of God.
ABYAN Perspective (The Highest Heights)
As young people, we are often told to aim for "success" in terms of career, comfort, or prestige.
The Real Prize: Easter tells an Abyan not to settle for the lowly and passing things of life. The joy of the Resurrection is a "high-grade" glory that the world cannot offer.
The Journey: This mystery is understood only by those who begin the long journey toward divine union in haste. Don't wait until you're "older" to seek this transformation. Start today by acknowledging how much more God has for you than you can currently imagine.
Reflect & Act โ๏ธ
The Spiritual Appetite: Spend time today pondering the "New Heavens and New Earth." If you could imagine the most perfect life, know that the reality of the Resurrection is even more glorious.
Let that fill you with a hunger to know God more.
Service and Love: One sign of living the Resurrection is a willingness to serve rather than be served. Today, find one way to love with "every fiber of your being" in your family or community.

My Resurrected Lord, the glory to which You have called me is beyond my capacity to comprehend. Please fill me with the realization that there is so much more that I do not know. Inflame my soul with a desire to know You more, so as to share more fully in the glories of the Resurrection while here on earth and forever in Heaven. Jesus, I trust in You! Alleluia!
