"The Congregation of the Causes of Saints gives the approval of the positio of the Servant of God Archbishop Teofilo Camomot.
The positio is like a thesis that proves that the candidate lived a life of heroic virtues. It will be presented to the panel of theologians then to the cardinals for further examinations that indeed the Servant of God truly lived a saintly life.
Once they approved, the Holy Father gives the candidate the title "Venerable".
The positio has 4 chapters. First, the Informatio which proves how the Servant of God lived the heroic virtues.
Second, the Summarum Testium which contains the testimonies of 45 living witnesses who had first hand encounter with Archbishop Teofilo Camomot. These witnesses hail from Carcar, Cebu, his hometown and from the places where he was assigned as a priest and bishop that include Talisay City, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, Pardo and Carcar City.
Third, the Summarum Documentorum which has 74 documents related to the candidate. This includes his personal records, written homilies and letters.
Fourth, the biography of the Servant of God which is based from the testimonies of the living witnesses and gathered documents.
The 516 paged positio is done after four years of thorough research and intensive interviews."
