🌸 FLORES DE MAYO - WEEK 3 🌸

Week three is done and we are getting ready. As the first communicants approach their first Sacraments of Confession and Communion, they now fully understand how important the Holy Eucharist is and why they need to confess before receiving Jesus.

Flores de Mayo is a beautiful Filipino Catholic tradition held every May to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary, the “Queen of Flowers.” It is a time of prayer, devotion, community, and the offering of spiritual flowers. Flores de Mayo also continues to ba faithfully celebrated across all Queen of Peace Parish BEC Areas.

🌸 FLORES DE MAYO - WEEK 2 🌸

Week two is done and it is beginning to become more meaningful. As the parents continue to support their children throughout this month's tradition, the beginners continue to have fun learning while the first communicants are leveling up their spiritual consciousness as they prepare to receive the Sacraments of Confession and Communion.

Last Wednesday, May 13, The Feast Day of Our Lady of Fatima was celebrated. It is inspiring for us to think that kids as young as the three shepherd children in Cova da Iria can lead to thousands becoming believers in Christ. It is also through this celebration that we were all reminded why we should pray the Rosary everyday.

🌸 FLORES DE MAYO - WEEK 1 🌸

For the month of May, FCCY Bacolod is heading the Flores de Mayo at the Queen of Peace Parish, Redemptorist grounds, led by Senior Catechists Achi IC and Ahia Conrad, and Junior Catechist Anntonah from the QPP-R Catechetical Ministry. Week one is done and it has been heartwarming for us to see the smiles on the kids' faces while they participate in various activities and express their love for God and Mama Mary with enthusiasm. It has also been beautiful to see parents and grandmothers bring their children each day, support them and pray with them as they get to grow in faith together. 🙏

Happy Presbyteral Anniversary Fr. Mitch!

Christ has risen! 🙏

FCCY Bacolod participated in the Queen of Peace Parish activities this past Holy Week. We balanced our regular Sunday sessions with meaningful participations as we let our youth experience walking together in faith while gaining a deeper understanding of Christ's sufferings as He was carrying the Cross.

We are truly blessed by this experience, and now in this season of Easter, we will continue to grow stronger together in faith as we glorify the Lord's resurrection.

Stronger Together in Faith 🙏

Over the last two weeks, FCCY Bacolod has been dedicated to one goal: building faith that lasts. By balancing the joy of activities with the wisdom of the Word, we’re creating a space where our youth can thrive both spiritually and socially.

We are so proud of the growth we've seen so far and can't wait to see what God has in store for us next.

It is truly a blessing to witness the ongoing Filipino Chinese Catholic Youth (FCCY) Bacolod reactivation through a joyful meet and greet, games, and fellowship. 😊

As we celebrate Chinese New Year this coming Tuesday, this gathering is a beautiful reminder of unity, culture, and faith coming together as one community in Christ. ✨
