TITLE:WHY DO YOU GO TO CHURCH?
(BAKIT KA PUMUPUNTA SA IGLESIA?)

TEXT:📖 Matthew 16:18 (KJV)
“And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

📖 1 Timothy 3:15 (KJV)
“But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.”

BACKGROUND

-In the Old Testament, God’s people gathered in the Tabernacle and Temple to worship and hear His word.

-In the New Testament, Jesus established the church as a gathering of believers redeemed by His blood.

-The early Christians faithfully assembled together for worship, prayer, fellowship, and learning God’s word despite persecution.

📖 Hebrews 10:25 (KJV)
“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”

INTRODUCTION

-The church is important because it is God’s place for worship, spiritual growth, encouragement, and service.

-Christians are not meant to live alone spiritually.

-Through the church, believers are strengthened, taught, corrected, and encouraged in their faith.

📖 Ephesians 5:25 (KJV)
“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;”

👉 Faithful giving honors God and helps spread the Gospel.

IV. WE GO TO CHURCH TO BECOME MATURE
(PUMUPUNTA TAYO SA IGLESIA UPANG MAGING GANAP SA PANANAMPALATAYA)

📖 2 Peter 3:18 (KJV)
“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.”

👉 The church helps believers become strong and mature Christians.

TITLE:“SALVATION BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH”

TEXT:📖 Ephesians 2:8–9 (KJV)
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

BACKGROUND

-The Apostle Paul wrote the book of Ephesians to teach believers about God’s grace, salvation, and the blessings found in Christ.

-Paul reminded believers that salvation is not earned by human works, religion, or personal goodness.

-Salvation is God’s gift given through faith in Jesus Christ.

INTRODUCTION

-Many people try to earn salvation through good works, religion, or human effort.

-But the Bible clearly teaches that salvation comes only by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ.

-No sinner can save himself; only Christ can save completely.

THREE IMPORTANT MESSAGES

1. SALVATION IS BY GOD’S GRACE

📖 Ephesians 2:8 (KJV)
“For by grace are ye saved through faith…”

-Grace means God’s unmerited favor toward sinners.

-Salvation is not something we deserve; it is freely given by God.

📖 Romans 6:23 (KJV)
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

2. SALVATION COMES THROUGH FAITH IN CHRIST

📖 Acts 16:31 (KJV)
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…”

-We are saved by trusting in the finished work of Jesus Christ.

-Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again for our salvation.

📖 1 Corinthians 15:3–4 (KJV)
“…Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”

3. SALVATION IS NOT BY WORKS

📖 Ephesians 2:9 (KJV)
“Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

-No amount of good works, religion, baptism, or human effort can save a sinner.

-Only the righteousness of Christ can save and justify man before God.

📖 Titus 3:5 (KJV)
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us…”

SHORT BIBLICAL CONCLUSION

-Salvation is the gift of God given by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

-Man cannot earn salvation by works or personal righteousness.

-The gospel declares that Jesus Christ died for our sins, rose again, and gives eternal life to all who believe in Him.

📖 John 14:6 (KJV)
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

Title:“SOMEONE IS PRAYING FOR YOU”

TEXT: Romans 8:34 (KJV)
“Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.”

📖 Hebrews 7:25 (KJV)
“Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.”

BACKGROUND

Jesus Christ is not only the Saviour who died for our sins, but also the risen and living High Priest who intercedes for believers.

In the Old Testament, the high priest represented the people before God through sacrifices and prayer.

Jesus Christ became the perfect and eternal High Priest who lives forever.

Unlike earthly priests who died and were replaced, Christ continually intercedes for His people.

This truth gives comfort, assurance, and strength to Christians today.

INTRODUCTION

Many Christians experience fear, discouragement, temptation, weakness, and spiritual battles.

Some believers feel weary, forgotten, or overwhelmed by the problems of life.

There are times when believers struggle in prayer, become spiritually weak, and feel guilty because of failures.

But the Bible gives assurance that Jesus Christ continually intercedes for His people.

Even when others forget us, Christ never stops praying for believers.

His intercession strengthens, comforts, protects, and sustains us.

THREE IMPORTANT MESSAGES

1. WE HAVE A WONDERFUL INTERCESSOR IN CHRIST

📖 Romans 8:34 (KJV)
“Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.”

Jesus Christ continually intercedes for believers before the Father.

Christians are no longer condemned because Christ died, rose again, and intercedes for them.

Christ strengthens believers during weakness and spiritual struggles.

Bible Example: Peter

📖 Luke 22:31–32 “And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.”

Lesson:

Peter failed and denied Christ, but Jesus prayed for him and restored him.

2. WE ARE NEVER WITHOUT HELP IN TRIALS

📖 Hebrews 7:25 (KJV)
“Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.”

Christ continually strengthens and sustains believers during trials and difficulties.

Because Christ lives forever, His help and care for believers never end.

Believers are never alone in spiritual battles.

Bible Example: Paul

📖 2 Corinthians 12:9 (KJV)
“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

Lesson:

God strengthened Paul during suffering, weakness, and hardships.

3. WE SHOULD WILLINGLY PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER

📖 James 5:16 (KJV)
“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

Prayer strengthens and encourages the church.

Every believer should faithfully pray for fellow Christians.

A praying church becomes spiritually strong and united.

Bible Example: Epaphras

📖 Colossians 4:12 (KJV)
“Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.”

Lesson:

Epaphras faithfully prayed for the spiritual growth of the church.

CONCLUSION

Jesus Christ continually intercedes for believers before the Father.

Because Christ is praying for us, we can overcome fear, temptation, weakness, and trials.

Christians should also faithfully pray for one another.

A praying church becomes spiritually strong, united, faithful, and victorious for the glory of God.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

Do I truly believe that Jesus Christ is interceding for me every day?

How does Christ’s intercession give me strength during trials and spiritual struggles?

Am I faithfully praying for my family, church, and fellow believers?

How can I encourage weak and discouraged believers through prayer?

Is my life helping build a spiritually strong and prayerful church?

(“Hindi Lamang Kristiyano, Kundi Tunay na mga Alagad ni Cristo”)

TEXT:Luke 14:27
“And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.”

BACKGROUND

-Jesus Christ was followed by many people during His earthly ministry.

-Some followed Him because of miracles, healing, and provision, but not all were truly committed.

-Jesus then taught the cost of discipleship, showing that true following Him requires self-denial, obedience, and bearing the cross daily.

📖 John 6:66 (KJV)
“From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.”

INTRODUCTION

-Many today call themselves Christians, but not all are true disciples of Christ.

-True discipleship is more than attending church—it is a daily life of obedience, sacrifice, and faithfulness to Jesus Christ.

THREE IMPORTANT MESSAGES

I. A TRUE DISCIPLE FOLLOWS CHRIST WITH FULL SURRENDER

📖 Luke 9:23 (KJV)
“If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.”

-A true disciple denies self, accepts the cross, and follows Christ daily, not only when convenient.

II. A TRUE DISCIPLE ABIDES IN GOD’S WORD

📖 John 8:31 (KJV)
“If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;”

-A true disciple lives in obedience to God’s word through reading, believing, and applying it every day.

III. A TRUE DISCIPLE BEARS SPIRITUAL FRUIT

📖 John 15:8 (KJV)
“Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.”

-A true disciple shows Christ in his life through holy living, faithful service, love, and spiritual growth.

CONCLUSION

-True discipleship is not proven by church attendance or titles, but by obedience, faithfulness, and a changed life in Christ.

-Jesus is calling believers not only to believe in Him, but to follow Him fully and faithfully until the end.

📖 Matthew 25:21 (KJV)
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant…”

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

Am I truly following Christ with full surrender and obedience?

TEXT:Joshua 24:15 (KJV)
“…but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

BACKGROUND

-The book of Joshua shows how God fulfilled His promise to Israel by bringing them into the Promised Land.

-In Joshua 24, Joshua gathered the people and challenged them to choose whom they would serve.

-Israel was surrounded by worldly influences and idolatry, but Joshua declared:

Joshua 24:15 (KJV)
“…choose you this day whom ye will serve…”

👉 “But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

INTRODUCTION

-Many families today are slowly drifting away from God through busyness, worldly influences, and neglect of spiritual things.

Hebrews 2:1 (KJV)
“…lest at any time we should let them slip.”

-A strong Christian family does not happen accidentally.

-It must intentionally return to God through , prayer, and obedience to His word.

👉 A God-centered home builds a God-centered church.

THREE IMPORTANT MESSAGES

I. A FAMILY MUST CHOOSE TO SERVE GOD

📖 Joshua 24:15 (KJV)
“Choose you this day whom ye will serve…”

-Serving God is a personal and family decision.

-Parents must lead spiritually, and children must learn to follow God sincerely.

👉 Joshua — a leader who committed his whole household to serve the LORD.

Lesson:

-One godly decision can change the direction of the whole family.

II. A FAMILY MUST RETURN TO GOD’S WORD

Deuteronomy 6:7 (KJV)
“And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children…”

-God’s word must be taught and practiced daily in the home.

-Without God’s word, the family loses spiritual direction.

Psalm 119:105 (KJV)
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”

👉 Timothy — taught the Scriptures by Lois and Eunice from childhood.

Lesson:

-Faith grows strong when the word of God is taught at home.

III. A FAMILY MUST RESTORE PRAYER AND GODLY FELLOWSHIP

📖 Acts 10:2 (KJV)
“…feared God with all his house… and prayed to God alway.”

-A praying family becomes united, guided, and strengthened by God.

-Prayer invites God’s presence into the home.

👉 Cornelius — a God-fearing man whose household prayed and sought God together.

Lesson:

-A family that prays together grows stronger together.

CONCLUSION

-Bringing our family back to God is not about perfection, but about returning to the right direction.

-God restores families that sincerely return to Him.

It begins with:

✔ Choosing to serve God
✔ Returning to God’s word
✔ Restoring prayer and fellowship

Psalm 127:1 (KJV)
“Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it…”

👉 A God-centered family is built intentionally, not accidentally.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

1. WHO IS LEADING OUR FAMILY SPIRITUALLY TODAY?

📖 Joshua 24:15 (KJV)
“…but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

👉 Is our family led by God or by worldly influence?

2. IS GOD’S WORD ACTIVE IN OUR HOME?

📖 Deuteronomy 6:7 (KJV)
“And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children…”

TITLE“A Life of Attentiveness: Giving Earnest Heed to God”

📖 TEXT: Hebrews 2:1 (KJV)
“Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.”

BACKGROUND

-The book of Hebrews was written to believers who were in danger of drifting away because of trials, pressures, and distractions.

-The writer exhorts them to remain steadfast by giving earnest heed to the word of God.

INTRODUCTION

-Today, many Christians hear God’s word, but not all truly heed it.

- Distractions, worries, and worldly influences often take attention away from God.

-As members of the church, we are called not only to hear—but to listen carefully, obey faithfully, and live attentively before God.

👉 A growing Christian is a listening Christian.

THREE IMPORTANT MESSAGES

I. ATTENTIVENESS TO GOD IS THE FOUNDATION OF A GODLY LIFE

-A life that listens to God is a life that obeys Him.

📖 “Speak; for thy servant heareth.” — 1 Samuel 3:10

II. ATTENTIVENESS TO GOD’S WORD PRODUCES OBEDIENCE AND STABILITY

God’s word must not only be heard but obeyed.

📖 “Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only…” — James 1:22

-Obedience brings spiritual growth and stability, while neglect leads to drifting.

III. ATTENTIVENESS TO GOD’S VOICE THROUGH OTHERS BUILDS UNITY AND LOVE

-God uses leaders and fellow believers to guide us.

📖 “Obey them that have the rule over you…” — Hebrews 13:17

-Listening with humility strengthens unity and love in the church.

CONCLUSION

-A life of attentiveness is a life that listens carefully, obeys faithfully, and responds quickly to God.

When we give earnest heed:

We grow spiritually

We avoid drifting

We become useful to God

👉 An attentive believer becomes a fruitful servant.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

1. Am I a doer of God’s word?

“Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only…” — James 1:22

👉 Do I live out what I hear daily?

2. Am I giving earnest heed or drifting away?

“…lest at any time we should let them slip.” — Hebrews 2:1

👉 Am I growing or becoming careless spiritually?

3. Am I attentive to others in love?

“Bear ye one another’s burdens…” — Galatians 6:2

👉 Do I listen and care for fellow believers?

FINAL THOUGHTS

📖 “Take heed therefore how ye hear…” — Luke 8:18

-Let every believer examine his own heart, whether he giveth earnest heed unto the word of God, or whether he be careless in his hearing.

-For many hear, yet few obey; and many begin well, yet some fall away.

-Let us therefore be not forgetful hearers, but doers of the word, that our lives may be established in truth.

-For they that give heed unto the voice of the Lord shall walk in light, grow in grace, and be fruitful in every good work.

“And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.”

Acts 7:59–60 (KJV)
“And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.”

BACKGROUND

-Stephen was one of the seven chosen servants in the early church, described as a man full of faith and the Holy Ghost (Acts 6:5).

-He faithfully served, boldly preached the truth, and was opposed by religious leaders.

-Because of his testimony, he was falsely accused and ultimately stoned—becoming the first Christian martyr.

-Even in death, he showed Christlike Character and forgiveness.

INTRODUCTION

-Today, many church members are active in ministry but lack boldness, consistency, and Christlike character.

-Some attend faithfully but remain silent in their witness.

-Stephen’s life reminds us that Christianity is not just participation in church,
but a life of faithful service, bold witness, and Christlike living—even in difficulty.

The question is:
Am I just in the church, or am I truly a faithful witness of Christ?

THREE IMPORTANT MESSAGES

1. GODLY CHARACTER IS ESSENTIAL FOR TRUE SERVICE

-Stephen was chosen because he was full of faith and the Holy Ghost (Acts 6:5).

-God values character before ministry.

-True service begins with a life that is spiritually right before God.

📖 Acts 6:3 (KJV)
“…men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom…”

2. GODLY BOLDNESS IS REQUIRED IN WITNESSING TRUTH

-Stephen boldly preached the truth, even when it was rejected.

-He did not compromise God’s message.

📖 2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

3. GODLY FORGIVENESS REVEALS TRUE SPIRITUAL MATURITY

-Even while dying, Stephen forgave his accusers

-This reflects the heart of Christ.

📖 Acts 7:60 (KJV)
“Lord, lay not this sin to their charge…”

CONCLUSION

Stephen’s life shows that a true Christian witness is marked by:

Godly character

Boldness in truth

Forgiveness in suffering

-True Christianity is not only believing, but living faithfully for Christ until the end.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

Am I serving God with a clean and Spirit-filled heart?

📖 Psalm 51:10 (KJV)
“Create in me a clean heart, O God…”

Am I bold in sharing the truth, or silent in fear?

📖 Acts 1:8 (KJV)
“Ye shall be witnesses unto me…”

Do I forgive others as Christ forgave me?

📖 Colossians 3:13 (KJV)
“…even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.”

👉 Final Thought:
Be a faithful witness like Stephen—live right, speak truth boldly, and forgive like Christ, no matter the cost.
