𝗣𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 | 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁
"Veni, Creator Spiritus, mentes tuorum visita, imple superna gratia quae tu creasti pectora."

Pentecost Sunday, celebrated fifty days after Easter, commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and the Blessed Virgin Mary, marking the birth of the Church and the beginning of her mission to proclaim the Gospel to all nations. As recounted in the Acts of the Apostles, the Holy Spirit came like a mighty wind and tongues of fire, empowering the disciples with courage, wisdom, and the gift of speaking in many languages. This sacred feast reminds us that the same Holy Spirit continues to guide, sanctify, and strengthen the faithful today.

On this solemn day, the Church invites us to open our hearts to the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. Pray the Veni Creator Spiritus, “Come, Creator Spirit, visit the souls of Your people…”, asking for His wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord. As we celebrate Pentecost Sunday, may we not only receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit but also live as courageous witnesses of Christ, bringing His truth, peace, and love into the world.

The Most Reverend Bishop Galbines is set to be formally installed as the 7th Bishop of Bacolod on 11 August 2026 at 9:00 in the morning at San Sebastian Cathedral, Bacolod City.

As instructed by the Dicastery for Bishops, our Diocese is now in a period of sede vacante until the newly appointed Bishop takes canonical possession of the Diocese.

The Dicastery has appointed Bishop Buzon as Bishop-Emeritus and Apostolic Administrator, with the rights, duties, and faculties proper to a Diocesan Bishop. Hence, in the Eucharistic Prayer, we will no longer mention Patricio as “our Bishop,” but rather as “+PATRICIO, OUR APOSTOLIC ADMINISTRATOR.” In Hiligaynon, “+PATRICIO ANG AMON ADMINISTRADOR.”

For the meantime, there should be no mention yet of +Louie as our Bishop in the liturgy until he formally takes canonical possession.

Pope Leo XIV has appointed His Excellency Most Rev. Bp. Louie Galbines, StHD, D.D. as the New Bishop of the Diocese of Bacolod, and will replace the outgoing Bishop of the Diocese, Most. Rev. Bp. Patricio A. Buzon, SDB, D.D.

No further details yet about the transfer and Installation of the New Bishop. Stay tuned for more updates.

𝗦𝗜𝗟𝗔𝗞 𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗔 | Sa nagluntad nga sunog kahapon sa Brgy. 14, Dawis, madamo sa aton mga kauturan ang nangin biktima kag nawad-an sang mga gamit kag balay. Gani karon kita magapatigayon sang isa ka donation drive, bulig para sa aton mga kauturan nga karon naga tinir sa ETCS III.

Sa mga luyag mag palab-ot sang bulig, ukon mag hatag sang mga donasyon, palihog lang magpakig-angot sa aton opisina. Madamo gid nga salamat.

𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗰𝘆 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 | 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗼𝗱’𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗰𝘆

“Jesus, I trust in You.” (John 20:27)

Divine Mercy Sunday is celebrated on the Sunday after Easter, a feast instituted to remind us of God’s boundless mercy poured out through the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Revealed through the visions of Saint Faustina, this day emphasizes that no sin is greater than God’s mercy, and that all who trust in Him with sincere hearts may receive His forgiveness and grace. From His pierced Heart flows blood and water, the source of life and mercy for the whole world.

This sacred day invites us to return to God with trust and repentance. Go to Confession and receive the Holy Eucharist, opening your soul to His mercy. Pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet, especially at 3:00 PM, the Hour of Mercy, remembering His sacrifice on the Cross. Show mercy to others through acts of kindness, forgiveness, and compassion. As we honor Divine Mercy Sunday, we are called not only to receive mercy, but to live it—trusting fully in Christ and reflecting His love to the world.

𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆 | 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝗺𝗯
“They took the body of Jesus and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as is the burial custom of the Jews.” (John 19:40)

Black Saturday is a day of silence, waiting, and mourning, as the Church reflects on Christ lying in the tomb after His crucifixion. The world seems still, caught between the sorrow of Good Friday and the hope of Easter Sunday. It is a reminder that even in moments when God seems silent, He is still at work, preparing the victory over death.

This day invites us to enter into quiet reflection and patient waiting. Spend time in prayer and silence, contemplating the sacrifice of Christ and the sorrow of His disciples. Avoid unnecessary noise and distractions, keeping a spirit of solemnity throughout the day. In the evening, participate in the Easter Vigil, where darkness gives way to light, and the Resurrection of Christ is joyfully proclaimed—the moment where sorrow finally turns into hope.

There are no Masses held in churches on Good Friday. ✝️

What takes place at mid-afternoon — around three o'clock — is the CELEBRATION OF THE LORD’S PASSION 🙏, which has three main parts: the 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗱𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻.

The Good Friday 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗶𝗺𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱. This was Jesus’ position in the Garden of Olives 🌿. All of mankind’s , all human and -– ours too -– crushed him to the ground, and he turned to God the Father for strength. 🤲
