“Dagyaw” is a Hiligaynon or Bisaya word meaning togetherness—working together toward a common goal. This spirit was deeply felt during Dagyaw 2025, beginning with Bishop Buzon’s homily, where he shared how Dagyaw reflects the heart of Christian life and community.

Delegates from the University of St. La Salle (USLS), representing the USG-DRS, Vocations Office, Chaplaincy, and CELAM, joined Dagyaw on December 5–6, 2025, to put faith, zeal for service, and unity into practice as one Lasallian community.

The journey began with a First Friday Holy Mass and anointing led by Fr. Celoy, followed by the delegates’ travel to Sum-ag and a warm welcome alongside fellow participants. Meaningful moments unfolded through preparations, shared reflections, and a heartfelt message from Fr. Celoy, culminating in a Holy Mass celebrated by Bishop Buzon and a pilgrimage walk to VMA. The delegates were warmly greeted by our very own USLS BEU Drumbeaters, along with other parish dance and song performances.

Highlights of the gathering included engaging presentations, group dynamics, and meaningful sharing facilitated by our adult companions. To further enrich the experience, a living rosary with a reenactment of each mystery was held, followed by a joyful performance by the dancing seminarians of Sacred Heart Seminary. One of the most anticipated moments was the hugot talk by the mystery guest speaker, Bro. Irwin Climaco, FSC. His talk, filled with realistic experiences and life-changing lessons, truly captured the interest and hearts of the young delegates, who deeply related to every story, song, and statement he shared.

Bro. Irwin kept the youth delegates engaged by creatively presenting the five stages of grief through songs by Cup of Joe and Ben & Ben, playing each piece before explaining its meaning and reminding everyone that God is present in every stage of our journey:
Bagyo – Denial: the storms of life we refuse to face
Bubog – Anger: the shards we carry within us
Pahina – Bargaining: the stories we try to rewrite
Multo – Depression: the presence of what is no longer there
Silakbo – Acceptance: the return to life and hope

The event was made even more special with praise and worship during the acoustic jam, heartfelt awarding moments, and closing remarks by Fr. Pabs. It was also a joy to reunite with Sir Ian Dominic Samson, a USLS alumnus and former CELAM staff member, who served as one of the hosts of Dagyaw 2025.

Indeed, it was a meaningful and unforgettable Diocesan Youth Day—one that not even the storm could hinder. God’s plan to gather His children prevailed, as not a single drop of rain fell throughout the event. We are truly grateful for this experience and firmly believe that we are God’s beloved children.
