To be “a living sacrifice” would mean that wherever you are, you are constantly offering your life to God for there is never a moment that we are out of His view or free to live as we please. The offering of oneself is a decisive act; this is not something we do from time to time. You don’t surrender your life to God only to take it back. It would also mean that your body should no longer satisfy the desires of the flesh; it no longer seeks to live for the world, and serves the devil. The body now submits to the instructions found in the Bible. The directives are about how to serve God.

Offering our bodies to God is not something we only do in church. A lifestyle of worship is something we do every day, everywhere we are. Everything we do with our body is to honor and glorify Him. We are to be channels of blessing, instruments of change, vessels worthy to be used by Him in this world. When we offer our lives to God we are asking Him to use this body for whatever pleases Him.
