Gospel | John 21:20-25

It seems this Gospel affirms a link to one of the Apostles as its basisโ€”John. How this Gospel, along with all the writings of Scripture, was originally written and compiled is lost to history. Yet, we can trust that the truths necessary for our salvation are all contained in the Scriptures.

As we prepare to celebrate the Solemnity of Pentecost, our parish is beautifully adorned in red, reminding us of the fire of the Holy Spirit that descended upon the Apostles and gave life to the Church. ๐Ÿ™

Pentecost is not just a celebration of what happened long ago. It is a reminder that the Holy Spirit continues to move, renew, strengthen, and guide us today. โœจ

May every flower, every candle, and every detail prepared for this celebration lead our hearts closer to God and open us once again to the Spiritโ€™s presence in our lives.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful and kindle in them the fire of Your love. โค๏ธ

The mind keeps replaying everything while the heart grows tired. ๐Ÿค

Not every unanswered question needs to be solved today. Sometimes, peace comes from surrendering things to God little by little.

Prayer for Burnout

Being tired physically is one thing.
But being tired emotionally, mentally, and spiritually hits differently. ๐Ÿ˜”

If youโ€™ve been carrying too much lately, maybe this is your reminder to pause and rest with God for a while.

โ€œLord Jesus, Iโ€™m tired and overwhelmed. Give me rest for my body, peace for my mind, and strength for my heart. Amen.โ€

Rest is not laziness. Even Jesus rested. ๐Ÿ™

Reflect today on the importance of getting to know others and the danger of being overly curious to know about them. There are many things we do not need to know; it takes temperance of the mind to discipline ourselves so that we remain focused on our God-given responsibilities. Intemperance of the mind, stemming from pride, leads to gossip and judgment. Hence, we must continuously hear Jesus remind us: โ€œWhat concern is it of yours? You follow me.โ€

John 21:15-19

With a commitment to love, Peter responds to the same question Jesus asks him. Each time, Jesus entrusts him with the care of the flockโ€”the fledgling Christian Church. Saint Peter remains the longest-serving pope, with a tenure of about thirty-four years. Only a few have come close, all within the last couple of centuries, the most recent being St. John Paul II, who served for twenty-eight years.
