Why Prayer and Fasting Are Important?

Many people think fasting is simply going without food. But biblically, fasting is much more than that. Fasting without prayer is just dieting. The purpose of fasting is not to impress God or manipulate Him into answering our prayers. Instead, it is a spiritual discipline that helps us humble ourselves, remove distractions, and seek God with greater focus.

Prayer is our communication with God. Through prayer, we worship Him, thank Him, confess our sins, and bring our needs before Him. Fasting strengthens our prayers by expressing our dependence on God rather than on our physical desires. It reminds us that our spiritual life is more important than our physical comfort.

Throughout the Bible, God's people prayed and fasted for different reasons. They fasted to seek God's direction (Acts 13:2–3), to humble themselves before Him (Ezra 8:21), to repent (Joel 2:12), and to prepare for God's purpose. Even Jesus fasted for forty days before beginning His earthly ministry (Matthew 4:1–2), showing us that spiritual preparation comes before spiritual victory.

It is important to remember that fasting does not make God love us more, nor does it force Him to answer our requests. God's love is already complete. Fasting changes us, not God. It teaches self-control, deepens our dependence on Him, and makes our hearts more sensitive to His voice.

Jesus also warned that fasting should never be done to gain the praise of others. In Matthew 6:16–18, He taught that fasting should be done with sincerity and humility because it is an act of worship, not a public performance.

As believers, prayer and fasting should not only be practiced during times of crisis. They should become part of our walk with God, helping us grow in intimacy with Him, strengthen our faith, and align our hearts with His will. The greatest reward of prayer and fasting is not simply receiving answers—it is knowing God more deeply.

Prayer connects us with God, and fasting removes distractions so we can seek Him with an undivided heart. ❤️‍🩹

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

It is with profound sorrow, yet with steadfast faith in the promises of our Lord Jesus Christ, that we inform you of the homegoing of our beloved Pastor (Ed Camalon), who peacefully entered into the presence of the Lord on July 8, 2026.

Our Pastor faithfully devoted his life to the service of God and the shepherding of His people. Through his unwavering faith, Christ-centered leadership, and compassionate ministry, he faithfully proclaimed the Gospel and touched the lives of countless individuals. His legacy and faithful service will continue to inspire and strengthen all who were blessed to know him.

Although our hearts are saddened by this great loss, we take comfort in the assurance of God's Word that those who trust in Christ have the hope of eternal life. We rejoice in knowing that our beloved Pastor is now at rest in the glorious presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The family and church respectfully ask for your continued prayers during this time of mourning.

Viewing arrangements will be announced at a later date.

Jesus is not coming yet.
People have been saying that for years.
Just enjoy life.

The Bible already said people would talk like this in the last days.

While the world keeps laughing and ignoring God, real believers must stay awake.

Jesus Is coming very soon.
Nobody knows the exact day or hour.

Repent.
Pray.
Stay ready.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO NOW?

Are you truly prepared to meet Jesus?

This world is changing rapidly. Prophecy is unfolding. The signs are everywhere. But salvation is not about fear, it is about being ready.

Jesus is calling people to wake up spiritually before it is too late.

Now is the time to:
Repent sincerely
Pray faithfully
Read the Word of God
Live holy and separated from sin
Be baptized in Jesus’ Name
Receive the Holy Ghost
Stay watchful and faithful

Do not wait for a “better time.” Tomorrow is not promised.

2 Corinthians 6:2 says:
“Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”

Nobody knows the exact day or hour of the Lord’s coming, but Jesus commanded us to be ready at all times.

When the trumpet sounds, will you be ready?

The door of grace is still open.
Jesus is still saving.
But the time to respond is NOW.

A sobering reality we rarely talk about...
Imagine a place with absolute finality. No second chances. No way out. And a thirst so deep that even a single drop of water would be a mercy—yet it never comes.

The biblical account of the Rich Man and Lazarus paints a vivid picture of this reality. Once the great chasm is fixed, there is no crossing over. There is no exit. There is no water.

But there is profound hope today. If you are reading this, you still have a choice. The door of grace remains open, and the Living Water is freely offered by Jesus to anyone who asks. You don't have to face the finality of a closed door.

"Exit while you can." Step away from the wide path of the world. Choose the grace, forgiveness, and eternal life found only in Jesus Christ today. Tomorrow is never promised, but salvation is available right now through Him.
