Kids Ministry: CFC GK Negros Occidental

On this Feast of St. Mary Magdalene, the Gospel reminds us that love recognizes the voice of the One who never abandons us. Amid her tears, Mary heard Jesus call her by name, and everything changed (John 20:1–2, 11–18).

A father carrying his sleeping daughter is a quiet image of that same love. She rests without fear because she knows she is safe. She does not need to stay awake to make sure her father will not leave... she trusts his embrace completely.

Perhaps this is how God invites us to live today. In a world that leaves us anxious and weary, He gently calls each of us by name, saying, "You are safe with Me." We do not have to carry every burden alone. We can rest in the arms of our Heavenly Father, trusting that His love is stronger than our fears and His presence is faithful even when we cannot see what lies ahead.

May we learn the faith of a child...resting, trusting, and believing that the Father's embrace never fails.

There is something beautiful about a child's smile.

Eight months ago, during Oplan Bulig Negros, we captured this moment. Hope was still alive.

In today's Gospel, Jesus speaks of the weeds growing among the wheat, the tiny mustard seed that becomes a great tree, and the yeast that transforms the whole dough. He reminds us that God is always at work, even when we cannot immediately see it.

Many communities carry their own "weeds".... poverty, loss, disasters, uncertainty, and pain. Yet God's Kingdom continues to grow quietly in hearts that choose faith over fear, generosity over indifference, and love over despair.

This child is a reminder that even in places marked by hardship, God continues to plant seeds of hope. A smile. A helping hand. A shared meal. A prayer. These may seem small, but in God's hands, they become the beginning of something far greater.

The Kingdom of God often starts in the smallest moments of compassion.

May today's Gospel challenge us not only to see the weeds around us, but to become the good seed that Christ has planted and bringing hope wherever He sends us.

Lord, make our lives a seed of Your Kingdom, growing quietly through every act of love. 🌾💚

Like a child who praises without hesitation, may we worship with pure hearts, trust without fear, and follow wherever Christ leads.

We were not chosen to stand on the sidelines, but to shine His light, share His love, and make Him known.

Chosen to be God's Disciples.
Today. Tomorrow. Always.
We are CFC-GK.

Every great disciple begins with a heart that simply says, "Yes, Lord."
