God unleashed plagues to break Egypt's grip and free His people from slavery. Moses led them out under God’s covering but when Israel reached the Red Sea with Pharaoh's army closing in, they forgot what God had already done. Doubt and fear consumed them. Yet where they saw a barrier, God made a highway. They walked through on dry ground, and their supposed end became a testament of God’s power. Your Red Sea is not where you lose, it's where He shows you how great He is. Even when there is no way, He still makes a way.

Life will bring moments of lack, fear, and uncertainty but our confidence is not in what we see, but in our God who is faithful.

In the days of famine, God sent Elijah to a widow who had only a handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse preparing her last meal. Yet the word of the Lord came: Make me thereof a little cake first. Fear not.

In the face of lack, she chose obedience. She gave first—and trusted God’s word.God did not remove the famine, but He sustained her through it—day by day. What stands before you may seem overwhelming. But the God who stands behind you is greater. When you obey His word in faith, you can trust Him to sustain you—again and again.

God is not looking for a crowded heart, but a clean and sincere one. The danger of wanting the best of both worlds is living with a divided heart—holding on to God while still clinging to the world. This is where lukewarm faith begins: enough of God to feel secure, but too much of the world to be transformed.

Be weary, for light and darkness cannot coexist. When our hearts are filled with worldly desires, our faith grows weak. We may think we have everything, yet without full dependence on God, we have nothing. Wanting both ultimately leaves us empty. When we choose God fully, we gain what the world can never give. And in Christ, even if we have nothing in the eyes of the world, we have gained all things.

The enemy’s tactic is to narrow our vision until we only see the "forbidden tree." In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve held authority over a paradise, yet they were tempted to forget their blessings by focusing on a single restriction. Similarly, in Joshua 7, Achan allowed his eyes to drift toward silver and gold despite witnessing God’s great victory at Jericho. When we stare at what is withheld, we lose sight of the authority and grace God has already placed in our hands.

Many people avoid the house of God because they only see the restrictions of the Truth. They focus on what they must let go rather than what they stand to gain. The enemy highlights life’s struggles and challenges to make us forget how God makes us feel. We become so preoccupied with the perceived cost of following the Lord that we miss the power of His presence.

True freedom begins when we stop staring at the forbidden and appreciate what is given. The boundaries of the Word are not a cage, but a hedge of protection designed to lead us into abundance. What God provides is always greater than what the world offers.

Joshua 7:1-22
