Today we commemorate the assumption of Mary into Heaven. The pinnacle of her destiny of fullness and blessedness, of the glorification of her immaculate soul and of her virginal body and, of her perfect configuration into the Risen Christ. She was taken body and soul, the result of her fidelity to God's will. Tradition shares that it was in her sleep that she gave her last breath, that is why it is also referred to as the "Dormition of Mary".

Pray for us most Holy Mother of God.
