Ignite Hope and Faith:
Vicariate of San Sebastian Celebrates Catechetical Month 2025!
The spirit of mission and joy filled the air as the Vicariate of San Sebastian launched its much-awaited Catechetical Month Celebration last September 6, 2025. With the theme: “Ambassadors of Hope: Witnessing Faith, Inspiring Love, and Transforming Lives in the Changing World.” A vibrant gathering of faith, fellowship, and inspiration was witnessed.
Five parishes united in purpose and praise:
• St. Therese of the Child Jesus Quasi-Parish
• St. Matthew Quasi-Parish
• Our Lady of Fatima Parish and Shrine
• Nuestra Señora De Salvacion Parish
• San Sebastian Cathedral Parish
The event began with a solemn Eucharistic Celebration, presided by Msgr. Ronaldo S. Quijano, SThD, VG and concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Hubert Javellana Vicariate Priest Catechist Coordinator and Parish Priest of St. Therese of the Child Jesus Quasi-Parish, setting the tone for a celebration rooted in faith and service. This was followed by the ribbon-cutting of the Vicariate Exhibit, showcasing the creativity, dedication, and evangelizing spirit of the catechists.
Rev. Fr. Hubert Javellana, welcomed the catechists with heartfelt gratitude.
“Your kindness and commitment are the heartbeat of our mission. You are truly ambassadors of hope,” he shared, honoring their selfless dedication to the ministry as some of them served for decades.
Msgr. Ronald Quijano, SThD, VG, delivered a stirring message, urging catechists to remain steadfast in their faith and service, especially in the face of today’s challenges. He encouraged young catechists to grow their faith and involve their families to serve the church. His words echoed the theme—calling everyone to be living witnesses of hope and love in a changing world.
Adding color and joy to the event, each parish prepared intermission numbers that reflected their unique gifts and talents—turning the celebration into a beautiful tapestry of culture and faith. This celebration was more than just an event—it was a spiritual awakening, a renewal of purpose, and a joyful affirmation that the mission of catechesis continues to transform lives.
