ALTAR SERVERS STRENGTHEN CAMARADERIE WITH VICTORY ๐
A peaceful day of August 26 2023 in St. John Nepomucene Parish. The 2nd Sum-ag Vicariate Altar Servers day has commenced. Altar servers from St. John Nepomuceno Parish, San Isidro Labrador Parish, Santo Niรฑo Parish, St. John the Baptist Quasi-Parish, Our Lady of Compassion Chaplaincy, and St. Ezekiel Moreno Monastery came together to bear witness. The day consists of forming young men to be knowledgeable of the howโs and whyโs of being an altar server, forming camaraderie among peers and developing sportsmanship.
In the morning activities, the event started with the procession of the images of the patron saints of Altar Servers, most especially the image of St. Tarcisius of Rome followed by the Eucharistic Celebration presided by Rev. Fr. Narciso Gregori Gayares VII, Director, Diocesan Commission on Liturgy, Very Rev. Fr. Lou-an P. Torrefranca - Vicar Forane/Parish Priest, San Juan Nepomuceno Parish, Rev. Fr. Tomas Rito - Vicariate Director on Liturgy/ Chaplain who also gave the inspirational speech, Our Lady of Compassion Chaplaincy, Rev. Fr. Reman C. Cornel - Parish Priest, Sto. Niรฑo Parish. The mass included the Blessing of Parish Master of Ceremonies and the Renewal of Commitment of all Altar Servers
The Liturgical formation was given by Bro. Kurt Emmanuel Baylin from Diocesan Commission on Liturgy.
The afternoon activities are the anticipated part of the event. In which each participant is grouped with different parishes to instill diversity and introduces new faces among them. They have shown their skills in critical thinking, strategic play, and creativeness on the grounds of the parish. Each participant gave their best as camaraderie emerged with bond.
The awarding signals the climax of the event; it is where Team B takes the throne as champion in the event and Team A as 1st runner up. After the awarding followed by the induction of newly elected Vicariate of Sum-ag Ministry of Altar Servers Council Officers and was then concluded with the final blessings by Rev. Fr. Lou-an Torrefranca
At the end of the day all of them are winners, as they formed unforgettable friendships and experience through the event as they continue on being an Altar server.
