Rejoicing in grace and unity, the Diocese of Bacolod warmly welcomed the Most Rev. Louie P. Galbines, SThD, D.D., as its seventh bishop during a solemn and historic installation ceremony at San Sebastian Cathedral, presided over by Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Charles John Brown with a powerful homily from Jose Cardinal Advincula. Surrounded by nearly 40 visiting bishops, 325 priests, civil leaders, and thousands of the faithful, this momentous gathering brought together the local Church in profound thanksgiving and joyful prayer as our new shepherd formally assumes his pastoral ministry to guide our spiritual community with faith and devotion.

Bishop Louie Patalinghug Galbines, D.D., their incoming 7th Bishop. Priests, religious, and lay devotees have come together to greet their new shepherd as he arrives in the diocese ahead of tomorrow’s official installation. Faith shined brightly through the stormy weather as the Vicariate of Queen of Peace came together to mark the sixth evening of prayers honoring St. John Marie Vianney. Under the spiritual guidance of our Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Belarmino Rene Obordo, our community at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Chaplaincy was privileged to attend this sacred gathering. Seeing so many devoted souls brave the elements to join in fellowship served as a moving testament to our shared dedication to the Lord, Jul 28.

Our hearts were further touched by the insightful sermon delivered by Fr. Dave Ryan Treyes. Reflecting on the Gospel message of the wheat amidst the weeds, he challenged us to contemplate the transformative power of divine grace, noting that while darkness can never produce light, Almighty God holds the power to turn adversity into blessing. May we hold fast to this truth as we walk together in faith.

Through per-parish reports, vicariate evaluations, and collaborative planning, we tackled our operational challenges, celebrated our wins, and aligned our vision for the rest of the year.

Transitioning from his dedicated service as the Bishop of Kabankalan, Bishop Louie steps into this new role with a shepherd's heart, ready to guide our local Church into a new chapter of faith, unity, and spiritual growth.

Here at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Chaplaincy, Eroreco, we extend our warmest and most prayerful welcome to our new shepherd. We pledge our steadfast support, daily prayers, and collaboration as you lead us closer to Christ. Welcome to your new home, Your Excellency! May your ministry be richly blessed.
