Naggibo nin pamakol na pisì, gabos pinalayas sa templo, an mga karnero asin man an mga baka: inolà an mga sencillo kan mga pararibay nin kwarta, saka an mga lamesa pinabalintok; asin an mga nagpapabakal nin salampati sinabihan: "Halea ini digdi, dai nindo paggibohon na saodan an harong kan sakong Amâ. "Naromdoman kan saiyang mga disipulos an nasusurat: "An pag-imon para sa saimong harong iyo sako an matunaw." Nagsimbag an mga Judío asin nagsabi saiya: "Anong tanda an ikakapahiling mo samo ta ini ginigibo mo?" Nagsimbag sainda si Jesus: "Laglaga an santuariong ini asin sa tolong aldaw babangonon ko." Nagsabi an mga Judío: "Apat-na-polo anom na taon tinugdok an santuariong ini, asin ika sa tolong aldaw babangonon mo?" Alagad siya nagsasabi dapit sa santuario na iyo an saiyang hawak. Kan bangonon siya hale sa mga gadan naromdoman kan saiyang mga disipulos na sinabi niya ini, asin nagtubod sinda sa kasuratan saka sa tataramon na sinabi ni Jesus. Kan yaon siya sa Jerusalem para sa fiesta nin Pasko, dakul an nagtubod sa saiyang ngaran, natatànaw an mga tanda na saiyang ginigibo. Alagad si Jesus man sana dai sainda nagtutubod, huli ta midbid niya sinda gabos, asin dai niya kaipuhan na may magsaksi dapit sa tawo: ta siya, aram niya kun ano an yaon sa tawo.

𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬?

It is important to clarify that altar servers are not under the jurisdiction or required membership of the youth ministry.

According to the General Instructions of the Roman Missal (No. 98), 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐲𝐭𝐞, 𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐫, 𝐢𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭. Their primary responsibility lies in serving at the altar, assisting the priest and deacon, and fulfilling their own functions within the ministry of the altar.

𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐛𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Instead, let us support and affirm their dedication to their sacred duties at the altar, knowing that they play a vital role in the celebration of the Eucharist and the life of our faith community.

Sometimes, individuals may choose to leave our ministry and join another one or explore different ways to serve God. While this may disappoint us, 𝐰𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲.

𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐣𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐞 or hold resentment towards those who feel called to explore different avenues of service within the Church we should celebrate their choices and support them, even if they lead elsewhere. 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥-𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠.

I want to make it clear that 𝐈'𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦. Many youth ministries are great at nurturing young people spiritually. However, it's important to talk about issues that might come up.

Let's create an environment of acceptance and encouragement in our ministries, respecting the choices of individuals and supporting them in their spiritual paths.

LOOK: The Vicarial Officers together with all the Parish MAS President under the Vicariate of St. Rose of Lima, Diocese of Legazpi had their Vicarial Altar Servers' Meeting today, January 27, 2024 at the Parish of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Malilipot, Albay.

The event features the active participation of the following parishes;

1. Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish - Malilipot
2. St. Rose of Lima Parish - Bacacay
3. St. Dominic De Guzman Parish - Sto. Domingo
4. St. John Nepomucene Parish - Bonga, Bacacay

The discussions was centered on their per-Parish Updates, Vicarial Planning of Activities, and especially on the Upcoming Activity which is the Diocesan Altar Servers Presidents' Gathering. Stay tuned as the collective effort of Vicarial and Parish Officers unfold in a symphony of service and commitment.
