For every Catholic parent: the greatest inheritance we can leave our children is a faith that knows where to turn. šŸ¤

Teach them to pray when they are little. Let them see you reach for the Rosary. Bring them to Mass. Teach them to recognize Jesus in the Eucharist.

One day, when life becomes difficult and you cannot fix everything for them, may they remember what you taught them:

Turn to Jesus. Our Lady will help lead you to Him.

St. Bartholomew, pray for us!
August 24

***
On August 24, the Catholic Church celebrates the Feast of Saint Bartholomew, one of the Twelve Apostles of Christ. In the Synoptic Gospels, St. Bartholomew is always listed in the sixth position, preceding Philip (Mk. 3:18; Mt. 10:3; Lk. 6:14) who introduced him to Jesus (Jn. 1:45-46).

The formation of a child does not begin and end in the classroom. Before children become students, they are first members of a family. The values they learn at home—respect, discipline, compassion, accountability, and the value of every human life—help shape who they become.

When violence occurs in schools, let us not place the entire burden on teachers. Teachers have a vital role in educating and guiding students, but families and the wider community also share the responsibility of forming young people and creating an environment where peace and respect can flourish.

It takes a home, a school, and a community working together to raise children who choose compassion over violence, respect over hatred, and peace over conflict.

May we ask for the intercession of the Holy Family—Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, that our homes may become the first schools of love, respect, discipline, and peace, and that our schools may become safe places where every child is valued and protected.

Holy Family, pray for our families, teachers, students, and schools. Guide us in building a culture of peace. Amen. šŸ™

As Saturday comes to a close, release what you cannot control and place the week behind you in the hands of God.

Tomorrow is the Lord’s Day. Prepare your heart to meet Him at Holy Mass, to hear His Word, and to receive Him in the Eucharist. šŸ¤

Jesus, quiet my heart tonight. May there be less of me and more of You.

Knights and Maidens of the Altar Join 1st Vicariate Altar Servers’ Month Celebration

Thje Knights and Maidens of the Altar - Saint Isidore the Farmer Parish joyfully participated in the 1st Vicariate Altar Servers’ Month Celebration held on August 21, 2026, at La Salette of Roxas College, Inc., hosted by the Our Lady of La Salette Parish, Roxas.

With the theme ā€œREIGNITE: Renewing Our Stewardship at the Altar,ā€ the celebration aimed to deepen the altar servers’ knowledge and understanding of their role in serving God at the altar.

The activity opened with a talk by Bro. John Lorenz Rosales, MS, who emphasized that being an altar server goes beyond wearing the alb or cassock and surplice. He encouraged the youth to live out the values of service and faith in their daily lives.

A vocation campaign and couch discussion were also held to help the altar servers reflect on their possible vocations. Inspiring experiences about Priesthood, Religious Life, Married Life, and Single Blessedness were shared by Rev. Bee-Jay Asuncion, Sr. Minda Posadas, SFC, Mr. and Mrs. Marlou Yadao, and Mr. Antonio Bautista, respectively, with Mr. Wilson Carabaccan as moderator.

The celebration also included practical liturgical training led by Rev. Bee-Jay Asuncion and Rev. Fr. Peter Simangan. The sessions focused on the proper gestures and postures prescribed by the General Instruction of the Roman Missal (GIRM), helping promote greater consistency and unity among altar servers from the different parishes in the vicariate.

The event concluded with cultural presentations, fun games, and fellowship, with participants receiving various prizes.

The celebration ended on an uplifting note, inspiring the altar servers of the Vicariate of Our Lady of Lourdes to continue serving at the altar with greater devotion, unity, and love for God.

ā€˜WALA NAMANG PUSO ANG AI. WALANG PUSO ANG MGA GAMES.’

Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle appeals to parents and grandparents to foster genuine human connection over screen time among children following the school shooting in Ateneo de Zamboanga University.

During a Mass at the Parish Church of the Holy Sacrifice at the University of the Philippines Diliman, Tagle warned against letting video games and artificial intelligence (AI), which he said lacks ā€œheart,ā€ raise young people.
