APARRI 1ST WARD STRENGTHENS MINISTERING THROUGH “LINKING ARMS AND MINISTERING DAY 2.0”
The Aparri 1st Ward strengthened its commitment to meaningful ministering as members gathered for “Linking Arms and Ministering Day 2.0” today at the Aparri Meetinghouse.
Anchored on the theme “One Ward. One Purpose. One Greater Impact,” the activity brought members together in a unified effort to strengthen relationships, reach out to fellow members, and extend Christlike service beyond the walls of the meetinghouse.
The activity was carried out in three major parts: the opening program, fieldwork, and closing program.
BUILDING TRUST THROUGH INSPIRED QUESTIONS
The activity began with an opening program facilitated by the full-time missionaries, who provided participants with practical training on building relationships of trust and asking inspired questions.
Through interactive discussions, role plays, and demonstrations, participants were taught how genuine ministering begins with sincere relationships and meaningful conversations.
Moreover, the activities allowed participants to practice approaches that could help them better understand the needs, concerns, and experiences of those they minister to.
The training emphasized that effective ministering is not simply about completing an assignment but about building trust, listening with genuine concern, and seeking inspiration to know how best to serve others.
FROM TRAINING TO ACTION: MINISTERING IN THE FIELD
Following the opening program, participants put their learning into action through the fieldwork portion of the activity.
All participants were organized into groups and assigned specific members to visit. Each group went into the community to reach out, reconnect, listen, and minister to the individuals and families entrusted to their care.
The fieldwork transformed the lessons from the opening session into meaningful experiences of service. Rather than simply discussing ministering, participants were given the opportunity to live it, one conversation, one visit, and one relationship at a time.
The activity also strengthened coordination among members as they worked together toward one common purpose: to ensure that no member feels forgotten, unseen, or alone.
SHARING EXPERIENCES AND LEARNING FROM ONE ANOTHER
The activity concluded with a closing program where representatives from each group reported on their experiences and shared the work they had accomplished.
Participants also provided feedback, reflecting on what they learned from the activity, the challenges they encountered, and the experiences that made their ministering efforts meaningful.
Bishop Jerome Billariña, who presided over the activity, delivered the closing remarks and emphasized the importance of the activity and the collective effort of every participant.
He highlighted that the success of ministering is not measured merely by the number of visits made, but by the love, sincerity, and effort extended to every person served. He also recognized the willingness of members to give their time, energy, and hearts in reaching out to others.
The activity demonstrated that ministering becomes more powerful when members link arms, work together, and share the responsibility of caring for one another.
As the Aparri 1st Ward continues its journey of growth, “Linking Arms and Ministering Day 2.0” stands as another testament to its commitment to building a stronger and more connected ward.
