𝗠𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗮'𝘆 𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗸𝘄𝗶𝗹, 𝗺𝗮𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗮𝘄𝗶𝗻, 𝘂𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗸𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗶 𝘀𝗮 𝗹𝘂𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻.

Psalms 37:27 in the King James Version of the Bible reads, "Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore." This verse encapsulates a fundamental principle of the Christian faith: the struggle between good and evil. It calls on believers to actively choose to turn away from evil and instead focus on doing good, with the promise of an eternal dwelling in the presence of God.

The verse begins with the command to "depart from evil." This call to action urges believers to actively distance themselves from all that is contrary to God's will.

The verse then instructs believers to "do good." This positive proclamation encourages a proactive pursuit of righteousness and virtue. This can include acts of kindness, compassion, generosity, and justice, as well as attitudes of humility, love, and forgiveness. The Christian faith teaches that doing good is not only a moral imperative, but also a reflection of God's character and a means of bearing witness to His love and grace.

The promise that follows the imperative to "depart from evil, and do good" is the reward of dwelling "forevermore." 𝗛𝘂𝘄𝗮𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗸𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝘂𝗸𝗵𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻; 𝗛𝘂𝘄𝗮𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗵𝗶𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗸𝗼𝗱 𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗹 𝘀𝗮 𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁: 𝗜𝗸𝗮𝘄 𝗮𝘆 𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗮𝗸𝗹𝗼𝗹𝗼; 𝗛𝘂𝘄𝗮𝗴 𝗺𝗼 𝗮𝗸𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗸𝘂𝘄𝗶𝗹, 𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗻, 𝗢𝗵 𝗗𝗶𝗼𝘀 𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝘁𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻.

Psalm 27 expresses confidence in God for He is the light, salvation and stronghold. We have no reason to fear—but that knowledge will not make us immune to anxiety. The first half of this psalm might make us think that it was all easy for David. One might think that when trouble came there was no struggle, either with self or God. Yet David showed us that even he – the one who sought God with such passion – sometimes felt that God did not hear him immediately. God invited David to seek Him, yet there was a sense in which David felt that God was hiding from him (Psalm 27:9). David didn’t become angry with God or turn against Him. In his disappointment, he sought God all the more diligently and desperately.

There will be moments in our lives that we will feel helpless and discouraged but the Lord wanted us to seek His face. This is God's desire for all people. To "seek God's face" is to strongly desire His presence and blessing. When those moments come, seek God's face more diligently and desperately like David did. The Lord will not forsake us.

We should first know that promotion, success and standing did not come from earth and human initiative. We should stop having proud confidence in ourselves.

The verses are teaching us that all our inward schemes and outward plans cannot gain us advancement, unless based upon the fear and love of God.

God is the Judge: Every successful person, everyone exalted in some way, should humbly look to God with gratitude. It is God who puts down one, and exalts another. A humble mind and heart is the proper response, instead of boastful words, the celebration of one’s own strength, or resistance against God.

This is not to say that hard work, preparation, good habits, and other human aspects do not contribute to success – they clearly do. Yet even those things are gifts and abilities from God and should be regarded with humility and gratitude toward Him.

"𝐒𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐤𝐚𝐭 𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐧𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐠𝐚 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐰𝐢𝐝, 𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐮𝐡𝐚𝐲 𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐚𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐚𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐚 𝐤𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐧."

The paths of the good and the wicked are contrasted in this verse. Neither way escapes God's all-seeing eye (Hebrews 4:13). The word "way," in this context, represents lifestyle. The lifestyle of the righteous is one of contemplation and adherence to God's word. Consequently, they produce spiritual fruit (Psalm 1:1–3). On the other hand, the wicked pursue a lifestyle in which evil passions control them. Consequently, they are spiritually unproductive, and their lifestyle is worthless—it adds nothing of value—in God's sight (Psalm 1:4).

Let us remember that God knows who is righteous and who is unrighteous. He rewards the righteous but punishes the wicked. He examines the heart, so no hypocrite can fool Him.

The man who is identified as truly blessed is the one who delights in the Scriptures and meditates, day and night, on God's Word. He is described in this verse in a fourfold way: 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙗𝙚 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙖 𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙚 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙗𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙬𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙧, 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙗𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙝 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙪𝙞𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙤𝙣; 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙛 𝙖𝙡𝙨𝙤 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧; 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩𝙨𝙤𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙩𝙝 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙧.

The man whose God is the Lord is promised a never-failing supply of nourishment and limitless refreshment for the soul. His roots are deeply embedded in the truth of God's Word and his sustenance flows from multiple streams of God's eternal provision.

He is the man who rests in Christ and he is the one in whom the Lord Himself abides, for he produces the beautiful fruit of righteousness at the right time and in the best way. He is the one who works the works of God through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit, and whose words, actions, attitudes, and motives, are grounded on God's Word and honor His holy name.

The blessed man or woman will not wither when seasons of difficulty and drought come to test their faith. They will not be overwhelmed by the enemies wiles, for they will be covered in the armor of light. They will not be unsettled by problems and pain, for they are anchored to the Rock of our salvation and protected under the shadow of His wings.

May we be like the tree in Psalm 1 that is planted, grows, prospers, and produces the precious fruit of righteousness, receiving God's never-failing supply of nourishment and limitless refreshment from His streams of living water.

𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢 𝐚𝐤𝐨 𝐧𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐢𝐲𝐚, 𝐝𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐥 𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐤𝐨 𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐢𝐨𝐬. 𝐊𝐚𝐲𝐚 𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐤𝐨 𝐧𝐚 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐮𝐡𝐚𝐲 𝐝𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐥 𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐦 𝐤𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢 𝐚𝐤𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐲𝐚.

To what in our lives do we “set our face like flint?” Where are the lines we refuse to cross, or refuse to retreat? What do we stand for that prevents us from falling for anything?

When we identify those core convictions, those core values, those core behaviors that define us, we quickly realize that we’re talking about the places in our lives where we most need what God freely gives us.

Isaiah reminds us that the Lord helps us. We need not face the battle, or the opposition, or the temptation, alone. We can “set our face like flint” because we know that God has our back, for our own good.

𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐨 𝟓:𝟏𝟎 𝐀𝐒𝐃
𝐌𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐠𝐚 𝐝𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐚𝐠-𝐮𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐠 𝐝𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐥 𝐬𝐚 𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐬𝐮𝐧𝐨𝐝 𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐚 𝐬𝐚 𝐤𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐢𝐨𝐬, 𝐝𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐥 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐚 𝐬𝐚 𝐤𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐢𝐨𝐬.

As followers of Christ, we will encounter difficulties, unfair treatment, and persecution in this life. But, we are reminded that no matter what happens in this life, we are blessed when we are doing what’s right and good - His will, and will have what’s right and good for ourselves for eternity in the kingdom of heaven.

This verse implicates that when we are persecuted for doing what’s right, we have a choice: we can either do what’s right and suffer the persecution that may come, or we can avoid this harassment or pain by turning away from what is right.

Jesus says that those who are persecuted for this reason are blessed, are part of the kingdom of heaven. Being faithful, used by God, and bearing fruit are choices we make to honor God despite the criticism or persecution that comes. But we can be sure that because of our faithfulness, we will be blessed for eternity with God.

"𝐍𝐚 𝐡𝐮𝐰𝐚𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐨𝐥 𝐬𝐚 𝐤𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐧, 𝐧𝐚 𝐡𝐮𝐰𝐚𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐨, 𝐤𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢 𝐦𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐡𝐢𝐧, 𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐩𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐡𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐚 𝐥𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐠𝐚 𝐭𝐚𝐨."

God created man in His own image. The qualities and attitude that we have reflects God. Sometimes, the enemy will try to sway us by offending us. God is reminding us today to be gentle and not to succumb to the enemy's will.

The tongue is one of the most destructive parts of the human body. It is like a sharp knife that could inflict wounds - a reason not to speak evil of no man.

Being meek does not mean that we are weak. It represents maturity of Christians reacting to offenses. We have to treat one another and behave in our relationship with all people with Christ-like standards.

We are not to live our Christian life in a half-hearted manner, but rather we are to give it our all. We should run the race with single-minded resoluteness of purpose, determined to do our very best to the glory of God. We are to run so that we may obtain the prize.

We can run the race in a bed of sickness or at the kitchen sink. We can run to win at the office or at the supermarket, for the promised prize is for all who live godly in Christ Jesus and who conduct their Christian life in spirit and in truth.

We are to be faithful to the point of death, and stand fast in the Lord and in the power of His might. We are to be disciplined in our lives, exercise self-control, and consider the needs of others before our own.

We are to endure patiently through our trials, rejoicing in the Lord always, praying continually, and in everything giving thanks, for this is the will of God for all who are running the Christian race.

Let us run to obtain the reward; let us run to win. Focus on the finish line.

Obedience prepares us to receive blessings from God. Just as the Israelites were instructed to obey before entering and possessing the Promised Land, our obedience prepares us to receive the blessings God has in store for us.

Obedience is a pathway to experiencing God's abundant blessings. There is always a BLESSING in OBEDIENCE.
