Today, we commemorate Saint Augustine, Bishop and Doctor of the Church, one of the greatest teachers and theologians in the history of Christianity.

Saint Augustine’s life is a powerful testimony to the transforming grace and mercy of God. After years of searching for truth and living far from the fullness of the Christian faith, he experienced a profound conversion through the prayers of his mother, Saint Monica, and the guidance of Saint Ambrose.

As Bishop of Hippo, Saint Augustine dedicated his life to serving the Church through his preaching, writings, and defense of the Catholic faith. His teachings continue to inspire Christians to seek God wholeheartedly and to recognize that true peace can only be found in Him.

May the life of Saint Augustine remind us that it is never too late to return to God, for His mercy is always ready to welcome us.

𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐀𝐋 𝐎𝐅 𝐒𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐓 𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐀 | 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

Today, we commemorate Saint Monica, a devoted wife and mother whose life was marked by faith, patience, and persevering prayer. Despite the difficulties in her marriage and the struggles of her son, Saint Augustine, she never ceased praying for their conversion. Her prayers and virtuous example eventually helped lead her husband, Patricius, to the Christian faith, while her persistent prayers for Augustine continued for many years. After Augustine’s conversion and baptism by Saint Ambrose in Milan, Monica’s lifelong prayers were finally answered. Her story, preserved especially in Augustine’s Confessions, has made her a beloved example of hope for families and for those who continue to pray for loved ones who have gone astray.

Saint Monica reminds us that faithful and persistent prayer, even through years of hardship, can be an expression of profound love and trust in God. May her example inspire parents and families to remain steadfast in prayer, never losing hope in God’s mercy and grace.

Today, we celebrate the Feast of Saint Bartholomew, Apostle and Martyr, one of the Twelve Apostles chosen by Jesus Christ to proclaim the Gospel. Often identified with Nathanael in the Gospel according to John, Saint Bartholomew is remembered for his sincere faith and his willingness to follow Christ after recognizing Him as the Son of God.

Through his life and missionary work, Saint Bartholomew courageously proclaimed the Good News and remained faithful to Christ until his martyrdom. His witness reminds us that discipleship requires faith, courage, and perseverance, especially amid the challenges and difficulties of life.

As we celebrate his feast, may we be inspired by Saint Bartholomew's unwavering faith and commitment to the Gospel. May we also have the courage to follow Christ faithfully and proclaim His love through our words and actions.

Located beside the Basement Chapel of the Holy Cross in our new parish building, the Columbarium offers a sacred space where the faithful may remember, pray for, and honor their loved ones who have gone before us.

By reserving a Columbarium Vault, you not only provide a place of eternal rest for your loved ones but also become part of our continuing mission to build and support Saint Lodovico Pavoni Parish for generations to come.

Today, we commemorate the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary, honoring Mary as the Queen of Heaven and Earth. Her queenship is closely connected to her role as the Mother of Jesus Christ, the King of Kings, and her faithful cooperation in God’s plan of salvation. Christians have long honored and invoked Mary as Queen, a title reflected in the Church’s prayers, liturgical traditions, and teachings.

In 1954, Pope Pius XII formally established the feast of the Queenship of Mary through his encyclical Ad Caeli Reginam. Celebrated on August 22, eight days after the Solemnity of the Assumption, it highlights Mary’s glorification and her close union with her Son. As we honor Mary as our Queen and Mother, may we follow her example of humility and faithfulness and allow her to lead us ever closer to Jesus Christ.

Bishop Ruperto Santos reminded the faithful that true ministry flows from a heart made pure, a spirit obedient to God, and a life marked by respect for others. He reflected that these virtues, inspired by the Blessed Mother, are not signs of perfection but of sincerity and humility, allowing God’s grace to radiate through every word and gesture of service. In his pastoral guidance, he emphasized that ministry is not merely a task but a sacred offering, where the servant becomes a vessel of Christ’s light.

With prayers lifted to the Lord and to the Virgin of Antipolo, Nuestra Señora de la Paz y Buen Viaje, Bishop Ruperto Santos encouraged the community to embody these lessons in their daily mission. In every smile, every encounter, and every act of kindness, the faithful are called to reveal Christ’s presence. Thus, their service becomes a living testimony of faith, hope, and charity, guiding pilgrims and parishioners closer to God’s embrace."

MEMORIAL OF SAINT PIUS X | AUGUST 21

Today, we commemorate the Memorial of Saint Pius X, a humble shepherd of the Church whose life was marked by simplicity, holiness, and a deep love for the Holy Eucharist.

As Pope, Saint Pius X devoted himself to renewing the spiritual life of the faithful and encouraged frequent and worthy reception of Holy Communion, especially among children. His life reminds us that true greatness is found not in power or position, but in humble service to God and His people.

May the example of Saint Pius X inspire us to deepen our faith, remain faithful to Christ, and draw closer to Him in the Most Holy Eucharist.

A WARM BOWL OF HOPE | CHAMPORADO OUTREACH

In response to the needs of families affected by the recent weather conditions, the Ministry of Social Action and Human Development of Saint Lodovico Pavoni Parish extended a simple yet meaningful act of service to several affected sitios within our Area of Responsibility.

Through the distribution of warm champorado, the ministry brought comfort, nourishment, and a reminder that our parish community stands with those who are experiencing difficult circumstances.

This humble initiative reflects our mission to be a Church that does not only pray with the people, but also walks with them—especially in times of hardship and need.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to all the volunteers, donors, and parishioners who made this outreach possible. May your generosity continue to become a source of hope and encouragement to our brothers and sisters.

In every bowl shared, may they feel the warmth of a caring community and the love of Christ.

Today, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, commemorating the moment when Mary, having completed the course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into the glory of Heaven. From her humble and faithful “yes” to God at the Annunciation, Mary devoted her life completely to His will. As the Mother of Jesus, she remained close to her Son throughout His life and faithfully stood by Him even during His suffering and death.

Mary’s Assumption marks the culmination of her earthly journey and her unique union with Christ. In 1950, Pope Pius XII formally defined the Assumption as a dogma of the Catholic Church, affirming that the Blessed Virgin Mary was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory. In her Assumption, Mary stands as a sign of hope for all the faithful and reminds us of the promise of eternal life and the resurrection through Christ.

As we honor our Blessed Mother, may we reflect on her life of humility, obedience, and complete trust in God. May her faithful “yes” inspire us to follow God’s will with the same courage and devotion, and may she continue to guide us ever closer to her Son.

Last August 8, 2026, delegates from the Saint Lodovico Pavoni Parish Youth Ministry were blessed to participate once again and join the final session of the 𝐀𝐘𝐎𝐌 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫 hosted by RCAM Archdiocesan Youth Organizations and Movements - AYOM at the 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭 - 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐚! ✨

With the topic of 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 to close off this series, our delegates were equipped with vital insights on fostering open dialogue, building empathy, and leading with understanding within the community. These are truly valuable tools that will help the current and aspiring leaders of our ministry to cultivate unity and peace as we continue to serve! 🩵

Additionally, last July 27, 2026, one of our SLPPYM Core Members, Ashley Ray Vergara, was given the opportunity to represent our parish and ministry, and participate in the 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧'𝐬 (PCNE) 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 alongside the RCAM AYOM delegation at the 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐓𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐬 - 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐚! 🩷
