Church Covenant
*Having been led together by the Spirit of God our Saviour and the Lord Jesus Christ recognizing that we are but part of the Lord’s body which in His church and desiring to obey the will of God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, we bind ourselves to this solemn covenant.
*That we will do our part in fulfilling Lord’s command to make disciples of all nations for Him.
* That w
e will do our part in building up this local body of Christ which we are a part; in this regard, we will selflessly utilize our spiritual gifts in serving one another, recognizing that these gifts are not inherently ours but are gracious manifestations of the Spirit for the common good.
* That we will strives to maintain the spiritual purity of our church; in this regard, we will endeavor to present our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable unto God, not seeking conformity with nor approval of the world but maintaining spiritual separation in speech, in manner of dress, in worldly vices, unholy entertainment, and worldly music. If a brother or sister sins knowingly and openly, we will endeavor initially to bring him or her back with love and understanding not subjecting him or her to unnecessary ridicule and shame; but if the brother or sister be stubborn and unrepentant becoming a stumbling block to the church, we will not hesitate to do what the Lord commanded in Matthew 18:17 putting him or her out of our membership if needs be. That we will forbear one another in love, with lowliness, meekness and patience, endeavoring to maintain our spiritual unity by esteeming other better than ourselves. If there arise personal differences among us, we will not speak against one another with other church members but will settle our differences remembering that we are all imperfect and in the process of being renewed in the image of our Lord Jesus Christ. Finally, it will be our solemn pledge to bring up our children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, not just by example, not letting them forget the difficult trials which the Lord led us through, but use as their inspiration to faithfully serve the Lord in their own time.
