The Symbols: Their Meaning and Significance
THE CROSS - RED
• The cross represents the death of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who died on the cross carrying our sins with Him as the perfect sacrifice “having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself” (Colossians 1:20). Red represents the shed blood of Jesus that washes away our sins so we are able

to stand before God clothed in robes of righteousness and declared redeemed and justified “being now justified by his blood” (Romans 5:9). THE DOVE - GOLD
• The dove, a symbol of the Holy Spirit as is seen at the Baptism of Jesus by John in the Jordan River, represents the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit. “And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him” (Matthew 3:16). The gold again is a symbol of the fire of the Holy Spirit as was seen on the Day of Pentecost in the upper room. THE CUP - BLUE
• The cup represents the anointing oil as we are instructed, “Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up” (James 5:14 & 15). THE CROWN - PURPLE
• The crown represents the Coming King, with the purple showing the royalty of Jesus Christ who will return very soon to catch His bride away to be with Him forever “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord” (I Thessalonians 4:16 & 17). “He hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS” (Revelation19:16).

𝐒𝐎𝐖𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐆

𝐄𝐜𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝟏𝟏:𝟏–𝟔
"... Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well."

As followers of Christ, we are called to faithfully sow the seeds of the Gospel. Though the harvest may not come immediately, God's promises are certain. Let us never grow weary in sharing His Word, for every seed planted in faith has a purpose.

𝟏. 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 (𝐯. 𝟏)
Sharing Jesus is not optional—it is our calling. As believers, we are commissioned to share the Bread of Life with those who are spiritually hungry. (𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝟔:𝟑𝟓)

𝟐. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 (𝐯. 𝟏)
The results may not be immediate, but God promises a fruitful harvest in His perfect time.

𝟑. 𝐖𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 (𝐯. 𝟐)
Sow generously. The more seeds we plant, the more opportunities God has to bring people to Him. (𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝟐:𝟐–𝟑)

𝟒. 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 (𝐯. 𝟑)
There should be no hesitation in serving and worshiping God. What we sow is what we will reap. (𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟔:𝟕–𝟖)

𝟓. 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐖𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 (𝐯. 𝟒)
Preach the Gospel in every season—whether convenient or not. There is no room for excuses. (𝟐 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝟒:𝟐)

𝟔. 𝐌𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐬 (𝐯. 𝟓)
We may not always understand how God works, but we can trust that He is accomplishing His perfect will behind every seed we sow.

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧
Never grow tired of sharing the Gospel. Continue sowing seeds of faith, love, and truth, knowing that God alone gives the increase. Even if we do not immediately see the harvest, His timing is always perfect.

This month of 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭, we joyfully celebrate 𝐂𝐄 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 as we honor and thank God for the faithful leaders who continue to serve His kingdom with love, dedication, and excellence.

𝐓𝐎𝐆𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐖𝐄 𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐄

𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐰 𝟓:𝟏𝟒–𝟏𝟔
“You are the light of the world… Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

As followers of Christ, 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝. Our faith is not meant to be hidden but to be seen, so that others may come to know Jesus through the way we live. Whether at school, work, in our homes, or in our communities, we are called to reflect Christ’s love, kindness, and truth.

However, our light can grow dim when we :
1. 𝐁𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐞𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐮𝐩 - Remaining silent instead of speaking about Jesus.
2. 𝐆𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐝 - Follow the ways of the world
3. 𝐃𝐞𝐧𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 - Denying our faith
4. 𝐋𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐢𝐦 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 — Allowing sin to take over our lives.
5. 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 - Fail to share the reason for our hope
6. 𝐈𝐠𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 — Ignoring the needs of those around us

𝐈𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐚𝐡 𝟒𝟎:𝟐𝟗–𝟑𝟏
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.”

Strength is not only physical—it is also mental, emotional, and spiritual. While our own strength has limits, 𝐆𝐨𝐝’𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬. The Lord does not call us to rely on ourselves, but to depend on Him with faith and confidence.

The Bible reminds us that even the strongest people grow tired, but those who put their hope in the Lord will have their strength renewed. He gives us the courage to keep going, the endurance to stand firm, and the grace to overcome every trial.

As we continue our walk with Christ :
• We will face difficulties and challenges Yet in every season, God remains our source of strength.
• When we feel weary, broken, or overwhelmed, let us call upon Him, trust His promises, and remain steadfast in our faith.

𝐓𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬 : 𝐉𝐄𝐒𝐔𝐒 𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐌𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐌

𝐍𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐭. As we continue serving the Lord, we are reminded that 𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙮 𝙞𝙨 𝙪𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙩, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙤 𝙞𝙨 𝙚𝙫𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙢. While following Jesus does not guarantee a storm-free life, it does guarantee that 𝘄𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲’𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲.

From this message, we are reminded to:
1. 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐫 : When life feels beyond our control, let our faith be the anchor that keeps us steady. Worry cannot change our situation, but trusting God changes our perspective.
2. 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 : The One who calmed the wind and the waves is the same God who has authority over every circumstance in our lives. Nothing is impossible for Him.
3. 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬' 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐭 : Storms may come whether we are obeying or struggling, but His presence never leaves us. He journeys with us through every trial.
4. 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐨𝐬 : Like Jesus resting in the storm, we are called to trust God’s faithfulness. Even when we cannot see what He is doing, He remains in complete control.

As we reflect on His Word, let us ask ourselves:
• What fears am I carrying today?
• How deeply do I know Jesus?
• How much do I truly trust the Lord?

We are truly blessed and grateful for the message shared by our beloved Pastora and MMSD Youth President, Ptr. Christine Joy Canillo. Thank you for faithfully allowing God to use your life to encourage, inspire, and strengthen His people.

In today’s service, we dived into Matthew 7:14: “But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗽𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙞𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙧𝙤𝙖𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙩𝙝, 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙚𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚.

1. 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗪𝗔𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗟𝗜𝗙𝗘
Jesus is the gate and the only way to the Father (John 10:7-9, John 14:6). Believing in Him is our only pathway to salvation because He alone paid the price for our sins. It’s a narrow road, but it is 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗡𝗟𝗬 𝘄𝗮𝘆!

2. 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗪𝗔𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦
Holiness comes through the sanctification of His Word, which is absolute truth (John 17:17). While the Law was given to point out our transgressions, 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙛𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙮 𝙥𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝘾𝙝𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙩. We praise God for His mercy that keeps us alive and breathing today, even when we deserve judgment!

3. 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗪𝗔𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦
True happiness isn’t found in doing what we want; 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙡𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙤𝙗𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 (Psalm 119:1, James 1:25). God is generous with His blessings, but reading His Word isn't enough— 𝙬𝙚 𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙞𝙩 𝙤𝙪𝙩. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.

𝐀 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩. 𝐋𝐞𝐭 𝐮𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭. Every gathering is an opportunity to grow in faith, strengthen one another, and be reminded that we were never meant to walk with Christ alone. As believers, God calls us to live in fellowship— encouraging, praying for, and uplifting one another through every season of life.

In a world filled with challenges and distractions, staying connected to the body of Christ helps us remain steadfast in our faith as we eagerly await the glorious return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Let us continue to gather, worship, study His Word, and encourage one another, for together we grow stronger in Christ.

𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐇 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐃 𝐎𝐅 𝐆𝐎𝐃 | 𝟐 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝟒:𝟏–𝟖

Today, we are reminded of our calling as followers of Christ: 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗼𝗱.

𝐇𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢 𝐭𝐚𝐲𝐨 𝐩𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐠 𝐧𝐚 𝐭𝐚𝐲𝐨-𝐭𝐚𝐲𝐨 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐭𝐚𝐬. 𝐈𝐛𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐠𝐢 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐢𝐲𝐨𝐬!
𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐚 𝐭𝐚𝐲𝐨. 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐤𝐚 𝐩𝐚!

As believers, we are called to:
• 𝐁𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬—ready for the Lord whenever He comes.
• 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐥—sharing Christ is our greatest mission, even when it is inconvenient.
• 𝐁𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞—always prepared and sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit as we proclaim the Good News.
• 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐬—in season, out of season, and in every season.

Half of the people who have ever lived are alive today, and many still do not know Christ. As we joyfully serve the Lord, let us never forget that 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧. While there is still time, let us faithfully fulfill the Great Commission and bring His Word to the nations.
