History

The Parish of the Immaculate Heart of Mary started as a 1.5 hectare lot in Fairmount Hills, donated by Don Carlos Fernandez to the diocese for use as a seminary or a parish. Vianney Formation house and the Domus Christi (Home of Retired Priests) were then built. After a few years, residents from neighboring communities were invited to attend the weekly masses held at the refectory of the

formation house, which was converted to a mini-chapel every Sunday. The community grew and eventually the seminary was transferred, such that in July 2000, Bishop Protacio Gungon decided to create a new parish for the lay faithful residing along Sumulong Highway, Hinulugan Taktak Area, and Ortigas Extension. Thus, the Quasi-Parish of the Immaculate Heart of Mary was born, housed at the old seminary grounds. With the birth of the Quasi-Parish, the Parish Pastoral Council was then formed and various ministries were established. On December 30, 2003, the Quasi-Parish was elevated to the Parish of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (PIHM) by Bishop Gabriel Reyes with Fr. Ric Eguia as the 1st Parish Priest. Opportunities to grow deeper in faith such as the Parish Renewal Experience (PREX), Basic Bible Seminars, and Youth Encounters were made available to the community. The Garden of the Resurrection Ossuary was also built within the parish grounds to help finance the church construction. Several church construction fundraisers were organized to help complete the church such as the Handog Kay Maria Concert in 2002, the 551 Club, raffle contests and bazaars

On Christmas Eve, 2007, the first mass at the parish church site was celebrated under the stars by Fr. Joel Victorino, our 2nd parish priest. On November 30, 2012, PIHM celebrated a very significant milestone in its history, the much-awaited Dedication of the parish church, with the guidance of our then parish priest, Fr. Sandy Enhaynes, who was on his 6th year at our Parish. Jovi Nepomuceno was then appointed as the 4th parish priest, from November 2015 to June 2023, guiding and shepherding the community throughout the challenging years of the covid virus. The Parish Now

At present, the church of the Parish of the Immaculate Heart of Mary continues to gain popularity because of its unique architecture, which was designed by Arch. Dom Galicia. The parish grounds also attract people due to the sprawling and peaceful nature of the Rosary Garden, a perfect place for contemplation and prayer. The parish currently has a fast-growing population of more than 30,000, divided into 7 Mini Pastoral Communities (MPC) in 67 sitios. The parish has grown and continues to grow with our newly assigned parish priest, Fr. Jun Meneses. Join us in our journey of faith, hope and love and discover the joy that awaits you in every step! May 24, 2026 | PENTECOST SUNDAY
10:30 AM Mass
Presider: Rev. Fr. Alfredo E. Meneses, Jr.

Pentecost marks the beginning of the Churchโ€™s mission to the world. The word Pentecost comes from the Greek โ€œPentฤ“kostฤ“,โ€ meaning โ€œfiftiethโ€™, as it falls exactly 50 days after Easter Sunday, when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles, giving them courage, wisdom, and the ability to spread Godโ€™s message to all nations.

In todayโ€™s gospel, John 20:19โ€“23, the disciples were hiding behind locked doors, but Jesus appeared to them and said, โ€œPeace be with you.โ€ He then breathed on them and gave them the Holy Spirit.

This Gospel reminds us that we also experience fear, doubt, and uncertainty in life. Sometimes we hide behind our own โ€œlocked doorsโ€, worries, problems, disappointments, or lack of confidence. But Jesus comes to us with the same message: โ€œPeace be with you.โ€ Through the Holy Spirit, He gives us courage to continue, wisdom to choose what is right, and strength to love and forgive others.

May 23, 2026 | COMMISSIONING AND RENEWAL OF PIHM PARISH SERVERS

On the anticipated Mass of Pentecost Sunday, our parish witnessed the commissioning and recommissioning of our parish servers. Just as the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples and strengthened them for their mission, our servers are also called to serve God and His people with faith, humility, dedication, and love.

Pentecost reminds us that service in the Church is not only a responsibility but also a calling empowered by the Holy Spirit. Through their ministry at the altar, our parish servers become instruments of reverence, unity, and devotion in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

As they continue their journey of service, may they always be guided by the wisdom, courage, and fire of the Holy Spirit in all that they do.

Let us pray for our parish servers, that they may remain faithful in their commitment, grow deeper in their relationship with God, and continue to inspire other people to serve the Church with joyful hearts.

May 23, 2026 | LITURGICAL MUSIC MINISTRY CHORAL WORKSHOP

An inspiring and truly meaningful experience for the Choir members of the Parish of the Immaculate Heart of Mary during the Choral Seminar with Dr. Lester Delgado.

Dr. Lester Delgado is a Filipino composer, conductor, pianist, and music educator recognized for his contributions to choral and liturgical music. He has led award-winning choirs locally and internationally, teaches at Centro Escolar University Conservatory of Music, and founded the Vocalismo Choral Group.

The seminar became a valuable opportunity for us to deepen not only our knowledge in choral singing, but also our understanding of our ministry as servants of God through music. Dr. Delgado beautifully discussed the different parts of the Holy Mass and the important role of each hymn and response in prayer and worship. He reminded us that being part of the choir is not simply about performing well, but about leading the faithful closer to God through sincere and prayerful music.

We also learned valuable lessons on vocalization, proper breathing, blending, tone quality, and choir unity. Beyond technical skills, the seminar emphasized the importance of faith, discipline, humility, and devotion in becoming effective choir members and church servants.

As members of the Choir, we are grateful for this opportunity to grow together in both music and faith. Thank you, Dr. Lester Delgado, for sharing your knowledge, passion, and inspiration with us. May we continue to serve the Lord wholeheartedly through our voices and ministry.

Please join our Mass Celebrations in honor of the Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church on Monday, May 25, 2026.

7:00 AM โ€“ Parish of the Immaculate Heart of Mary
7:00 AM โ€“ Via Dolorosa (White Cross), Pinagmisahan Hills

Celebrated every Monday after Pentecost, this feast reminds us that Mary is not only the Mother of Jesus, but also the spiritual mother of the entire Church. At the foot of the Cross, Jesus entrusted Mary to His disciples, and since then, she has continued to guide, protect, and pray for Godโ€™s people with a motherโ€™s love.

May we look up to Mary as a model of faith, humility, obedience, and loving service. Through her example, we are reminded to stay close to Jesus and remain united as one Church family.

MAY 17, 2026 | SOLEMNITY OF THE ASCENSION OF THE LORD
WORLD COMMUNICATIONS SUNDAY
10:30AM Mass
Presider: Rev. Fr. Alfredo E. Meneses, Jr., Parish Priest

In todayโ€™s Gospel, Jesus appears to His disciples and gives them an important mission: to go out, share the Good News, and help others come closer to God. Even though some of the disciples still had doubts and fears, Jesus trusted them and reminded them that He would always be with them.

This Gospel teaches us that following Jesus is not only about praying or going to church โ€” it is also about living our faith every day through kindness, love, forgiveness, and helping others. We may not feel perfect or ready at times, but God still calls us to be witnesses of His love wherever we are. Most importantly, Jesus gives us this comforting promise: โ€œI am with you always.โ€ In moments of fear, struggles, or uncertainty, we are reminded that we are never alone because God walks with us every step of the way.

With renewed hearts and strengthened spirits, our Parish Workers gathered for a meaningful Recollection last May 16, 2026, in preparation for the upcoming Church Workers Commissioning & Recommissioning.

We extend our gratitude to Sem. John Cyrus Atanacio from San Carlos Major Seminary for sharing an inspiring reflection centered on LOVE: loving service, commitment and faithfulness, humility, and obedience.

His talk reminded us that despite the challenges and sacrifices that come with serving, we must remain rooted in Christโ€™s love. True service is not centered on oneself, but on opening our hearts, sharing compassion, and faithfully responding to Godโ€™s call. Through our service and obedience to God, we are continually shaped into faithful servants who honor our commitment to serve Him and His people with love, humility, and devotion.

May this recollection continue to inspire every parish worker to serve with love, humility, and unwavering faith.
