𝗣𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝘁

In Luke 7:37-39 there was a woman known as a sinner, just like all of us. She carried an alabaster flask of ointment and stood behind Jesus. She was weeping on His feet, and began to wet them with her tears. She wiped them with her hair, kissed His feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

This woman was sinful yet she encountered the forgiveness and grace of Christ. She did not merely bring something valuable; she was willing to pour it out before Jesus. That alabaster was expensive enough to be kept, saved, or secured. Yet, when she encountered Jesus, she considered Him worthy of what she had.

Sometimes, our alabaster contains our pride, shame, comfort, plans, time, talents, or ambition that may be hard for us to let go. However, are you willing to break that alabaster—to pour it out, and to let it be opened and exposed before Jesus? For He calls us to surrender to Him. The thing about that alabaster you are protecting is not what’s inside of it, but the evidence that it was opened and poured out, that it was totally submitted to Him.

What this woman did was a humble representation of surrendering and submission, hence, an act of worship. And true worship costs something greater than money. The cost of the oil are the things we have chosen to surrender, walk through, and what our worship has cost us.

Just like what the woman has been through, which is not known to us, we only saw how she poured out her oil in the alabaster for Jesus; we never saw what things she has to let go, to surrender, and to walk away from behind it.

So, let what you have been holding be surrendered at the feet of Jesus, even when surrender costs you something.

𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝗛𝗶𝗺𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹

Oftentimes, when we face seasons of uncertainty, exhaustion, and waiting. We find ourselves looking for answers everywhere.

We try to figure things out on our own, find the right people to help us, and create our own plans just to make sure that everything will be okay.

But perhaps, in the middle of all our trying, God is inviting us to stop.

To surrender the things we have been carrying.
To admit that we are tired, because strength is not measured by how much we can handle, but by how much we are willing to let God carry.
To recognize that we were never meant to do everything on our own, because His invitation is not for us to try harder, but to just trust Him deeper.

1 Peter 5:10 tells us that “God Himself will restore you and make you strong, firm, and steadfast.

𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘏𝘪𝘮𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧.
Not merely someone He sends.
He Himself will strengthen you.
He Himself will restore you.
He Himself will guide you.
He Himself will establish you.

There are seasons when you may feel like you are losing your strength, your direction, or even your footing. But God is not distant from your process. He is present in it.

The God who called you is also the God who will keep you.

So, release the need to control everything. Surrender the things you cannot comprehend. Let Him lead you where you cannot see, strengthen you, restore you, and establish you where He has called you to stand.

You may not know what tomorrow holds, but you know Who holds you.

God HIMSELF will do it.
