Maybe you needed this reminder today:
Jesus rested too.
He knew what it was like to be tired. He knew what it was like to have people constantly needing something from Him. He had places to go, people to teach, wounds to heal, and a mission to fulfill, and yet, He still made room to rest.
Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.
— Mark 6:31
And perhaps that is what you need to hear this Sabbath.
If you’re a student, you don’t have to solve your whole future today. The grades, deadlines, exams, and expectations can wait. You are more than your performance.
If you’re working, you don’t have to carry every responsibility in your hands. You can stop. Breathe. You are not defined by how much you accomplish.
If you’re a parent, you don’t have to be strong every moment. The family may need you, but even you need to be held by God sometimes.
If you’re getting older, perhaps your body doesn’t move the way it used to, and life has become quieter. But your worth has never grown old. God is still with you, still sustaining you, still calling you His own.
And if today you simply feel tired, tired of trying, tired of worrying, tired of being strong, tired of pretending everything is okay, then let this Sabbath be your permission to rest.
Not because everything is finished.
But because God is still God while you rest.
The world will keep moving without you for a little while. The unanswered messages can wait. The unfinished work can wait. Tomorrow’s worries belong to tomorrow.
For today, come close to God.
Put down what you have been carrying.
Let your soul breathe.
You do not have to earn God’s love by exhausting yourself.
Jesus invites you not only to work for Him, but to rest with Him.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
— Matthew 11:28
So, dear friend, wherever you are in life, studying, working, raising a family, growing older, or simply trying to make it through another week,
REST.
Your Father is not disappointed in you because you needed a pause.
He is inviting you closer.
Happy Sabbath. May you find in God the rest your heart has been longing for. 🤍
Foretaste of Heaven 🙌
