Prayer for protection from typhoons and flooding

Almighty Father,
Creator and Ever-living God,
your providence that sustains us in our needs, and for Your wisdom that guides the course of the universe. We acknowledge our sins against You and the rest of creation. We turn to You, our loving Father, and beg forgiveness for our sins.

Look with mercy upon Your people, O Lord, as we tremble in fear from the raging typhoons and floods. Keep us safe from all the dangers, and calm the storms that continue to threaten us. Be our refuge, O God, our comfort and our strength.

Our Lady of Fatima, intercede for us and embrace us in the mantle of your love.

We ask this through Jesus Christ, Our Lord, in the unity of Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever

August 15 | Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary 💙🤍

Today, we celebrate the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, rejoicing in the mystery of her being taken body and soul into heavenly glory at the end of her earthly life.

Mary’s Assumption reminds us that our earthly journey is not the end. Her life of humble obedience, unwavering faith, and wholehearted love for God points us toward the hope of eternal life. May we, like Mary, learn to say “yes” to God, trust in His plan, and faithfully follow Him even when the path is uncertain.💙

As we honor our Blessed Mother, may she continue to guide us closer to her Son, Jesus Christ, and teach us to live with a heart that is faithful, humble, and full of hope. ✝️

Today, we commemorate Saint Maximilian Maria Kolbe, a Franciscan friar whose life was marked by a deep devotion to Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary. Even in the darkest moments of his life, he remained steadfast in his faith and chose to live with courage, compassion, and hope. ✝️

May we learn from St. Maximilian Kolbe to place our trust in God, remain faithful in difficult times, and love others with a generous heart.

May we learn from Saint Dominic to pray with sincerity, speak with truth, serve with humility, and share our faith through our actions. In a world that can be filled with noise and distractions, may we never forget the power of a prayerful and faithful heart. 🤍

Today, we honor the Immaculate Heart of Mary, a heart filled with perfect love, humility, and obedience to God’s will. Through prayer, sacrifice, and meditation, we seek to console her heart and grow closer to her Son, Jesus Christ.

May our Blessed Mother guide us in faith, strengthen us in times of trial, and lead us ever closer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

As we begin this month, let us draw near to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a heart overflowing with mercy, compassion, and unfailing love. Today we are invited to deepen our relationship with Christ, repent our sins, and entrust our lives to Him.

August 6 | Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord

Today, we celebrate the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, when Jesus revealed His divine glory before his disciples strengthening their faith before His Passion. Through this extraordinary event, the Father proclaimed, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to Him.” (Matthew 17:5) ✝️

The Transfiguration reminds us that even in moments of uncertainty, Christ’s light never fades. As His disciples, may we open our hearts to His voice, allow His presence to transform us, and reflect His love, hope, and truth in our daily lives. ✨

May this feast inspire us to grow in faith and become witnesses of Christ’s light to everyone we meet.

Lord Jesus, transfigure our hearts and lead us ever closer to You. 🤍

August 4 | Feast of St. John Marie Vianney

Today, we honor Saint John Marie Vianney, the patron saint of parish priests, whose life was a beautiful example of humility, prayer, and wholehearted service to God. Despite the challenges he faced, he remained devoted to his calling and dedicated his life to guiding souls closer to Christ.

May his example remind us that true service is not about recognition, but about giving ourselves faithfully to God and to others. May we also pray for all priests who continue to serve their communities with love and compassion.

On this feast day, we extend our warmest greetings to Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Church’s Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Enrique M. Luzung!
