👉Breaking News: New Dates for the Synod on Synodality

This morning, at the end of the Sunday Angelus, the Holy Father announced that the upcoming 16th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops will be held in two moments, that is, in two sessions, spaced one year apart: the first from October 4 to 29, 2023, the second in October 2024.

“The Synod is walking together. But it is very difficult to walk together if we do not experience closeness. It is important to feel physical closeness which, however, must be accompanied by compassionate closeness. God is in communion with the pain and suffering of his people. One cannot live and reason from a comfortable position when speaking about poverty. All this can lead to a numbing of conscience. Spiritual, physical and existential closeness helps us to walk with the people towards a more just and peaceful world.

In our synodal journey, we may ask, am I an instrument of love in my community? In my parish? In my family? Am I a catalyst of love and joy for others? May we today, as the Gospel invites us, realize that mutual listening and respect are essential gestures of love in our synodal journey. May love and fraternity reign our communities and bring us closer as brothers and sisters, .
