As we celebrate Flores de Mayo on this special Mother’s Day, we also honor the women who became mothers in their own loving ways — those who guide, teach, care for, and nurture the children of the parish with patience and faith. After Flores de Mayo, the joy continued through games and activities for the children, filling the day with laughter, love, and beautiful memories shared by the community. 🙏💕

May 9 | St. Joachim and Anne Parish🌸

For the first time after our Flores, the Lourdesians introduced fun activities for the children to enjoy, bond, and create happy memories together. From the exciting Message Relay game to the joyful “Sisira ang Bulaklak” for the little ones, this new approach truly brought laughter and closeness among everyone. 💖

One of the funniest moments during the Message Relay was when the original message, “Ang Ginoo dili gyud mapakyas,” turned into “Ang Ginoo dili magpa kiss” and “Ang Ginoo dili magpa pakyaw” by the time it reached the front. 😭 Another message was “St. Joachim and St. Anne Parish,” but the children ended up saying “St. Vanish” and “St. Carish.” 😭 At least after all the laughter and fun, they were still able to learn and remember the name of our parish. 🤍

Flores de Mayo at Napo Chapel is not only about offering flowers to Mama Mary, but also about teaching children how to pray and grow in faith. Through the guidance of the Catechists and Lourdesians, the kids learned simple prayers, the Sign of the Cross, and lessons about God. Seeing them pray and participate with sincere hearts is truly a beautiful reminder that faith starts at a young age. 🙏

Flores de Mayo is not only about offering flowers and prayers—it is also a time of learning and growing in faith. Today, it was heartwarming to see children being gently guided by the catechists and Lourdesians, learning the basics of prayer, including how to properly make the Sign of the Cross and understand more about God.

In these simple moments, faith is being formed little by little—through teaching, patience, and shared devotion. Truly, it is beautiful to witness how the younger generation is being led closer to Mama Mary and to God.

Today at Cansumandig Chapel, the spirit of Flores de Mayo was beautifully felt in every corner. Children dressed as little angels offered flowers with joy, while others led the prayers and songs with confidence and devotion.

It’s heartwarming to see the community gathered—young and old—sharing this moment of faith together. From the smiles, the voices in prayer, to the simple presence of each one, everything reflects a love for Mama Mary that is alive and growing.
