Here’s a wrap-up photo of our **Christmas celebration at UCCP Mahayag** 🎄✨

This season reminds us that Christmas is not only about exchanging gifts, but more importantly, about **thanksgiving**—for life, for grace, and for the everyday blessings that allow us to become who we are today. It is a time to pause, reflect, and acknowledge God’s presence in every step of our journey.

As we walked together through **Simbang Gabi**, we began with **HOPE** and ended with **LOVE**, each theme guiding our hearts closer to the true meaning of Christmas:

1. **Hope** – because we have faith and believe in God’s promises, even in times of uncertainty.
2. **Peace** – when there is hope, peace settles in our hearts, calming our fears and worries.
3. **Joy** – when peace fills our hearts, joy naturally overflows in our lives and relationships.
4. **Love** – and when there is joy, love is shared freely, reflecting God’s greatest gift to us.

May these values continue to live in our hearts beyond the Christmas season and guide us in our daily walk of faith. ✨

Children's Sunday, celebrated on September 14, 2025, is a special day dedicated to promoting the welfare and well-being of children worldwide.

Look at how amazing and magnificent it is to see these children, at a very young age, dedicating their lives to serving the Lord, Jesus Christ.

As parents and adults, it is our duty and responsibility to take care of these children's well-being and continue to nurture them with love and care by sharing the word of God with them and involving them in church activities from an early age.

Thank you to Jasper, Zeke, Isha, and Aldea for taking the lead during the service last Sunday, and to all the children who participated in the choir.

May the God bless you always!

Pastor's Appreciation Sunday - August 17, 2025

In her inspiring message, Ms. Aileen Vailoces emphasized the importance of treating church pastors with respect, recognizing them as messengers and gifts from God to the church. She encouraged members to build friendships with their pastors while maintaining healthy boundaries and acknowledging their spiritual leadership.

By doing so, mutual respect and a positive church environment can thrive. Pastors serve not only as spiritual guides but also as safe havens where members can share their struggles and request prayer. In return, it's essential for members to offer prayers and support for their pastors.

Ultimately, pastors are human beings who deserve love, care, and attention, just like everyone else. Let's extend a helping hand when they're in need and show appreciation for their dedication and service. By doing so, we can foster a more supportive and loving church community.

A special thank you to all church members who generously gifted our beloved pastors, Pastor Tindoy and Pastor Cortes of UCCP Mahayag. May God richly bless you a thousandfold! We also extend our gratitude and appreciation to all hardworking pastors – may God continue to grant you strength and wisdom in your ministry.

Prayer Cell Gathering

The UCCP Mahayag Albuera Leyte hosted this month's Prayer Cell, led by our pastor, Cyndel Tindoy, where pastors from Circuit 1 came together for a powerful gathering of prayer and intercession. They lifted up prayers for various life situations, including families, relationships, and personal struggles, seeking God's guidance and intervention.

Healing prayers were offered for the sick, and intercessory prayers were made for those in need. Through this Prayer Cell, participants deepened their faith, shared concerns, and received support and encouragement from one another.

Following the prayer gathering, the group enjoyed a small feast prepared by the UCCP Mahayag members, fostering fellowship and camaraderie among the participants.

Youth Sunday Reflection

During the Youth Sunday celebration on August 10, 2025, Ms. Mae Pulan delivered a thought-provoking message highlighting how social media can cause anxiety, particularly among children and young adults. She emphasized how comparing our lives to others on social media can lead to anxious feelings and disappointment.

Ms. Pulan shared a practical advice on managing these feelings and helping children cope with anxiety. (Let's protect our minds just like we protect our homes. If we leave our doors open, anyone can enter. Similarly, if we're not mindful, negative thoughts can creep into our minds.)

She also encouraged parents to practice active listening and open communication, rather than judging their children too quickly. By doing so, parents can become a safe and trusted space for their children to share their struggles and concerns.

Ultimately, Ms. Pulan reminded the youth that true peace can be found in Christ Jesus. As Philippians 4:6-7 advises, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
