The youth of St. James the Apostle Parish Youth Ministry, together with the Knights of the Altar, spent this day in service through a house-to-house visit in support of the ongoing renovation of St. James the Apostle Parish Church. With willing hearts and helping hands, we continue to build not only our church, but also our faith and community.

We would also like to thank the Youth Ministers and the Knights of the Altar for their time, effort, and dedication in making this activity possible. We also extend our gratitude to the San Pedro Youth Ministry for guiding us today here in Brgy. San Pedro.🙌❤️

Sakristan ni Kristo!

Behind every solemn procession, every silent prayer, and every sacred moment of the Holy Week and Triduum… are servers who give their time, strength, and hearts in quiet devotion.

From Palm Sunday to the glory of Easter, you stood at the altar "fideliter et humiliter" faithfully and humbly serving Christ and His Church.

Your sacrifices may go unseen by many, but they are never unseen by God.

Servi inutiles sumus, quod debuimus facere fecimus — “We are servants; we have done what we ought.”

Thank you, dear altar servers, for your tireless service, reverence, and love.
May the Risen Lord bless you abundantly.

Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam.

Christus resurrexit, alleluia!

The tomb is empty, and hope is alive.

Today we celebrate the victory of light over darkness, life over death, and love that conquers all.

Rex gloriae, Dominus vitae — the King of glory, the Lord of life, has risen.

May your heart be renewed with faith, your spirit lifted with joy, and your home filled with peace.

Resurrexit sicut dixit — He is risen as He said.

Happy Easter Sunday! 🕊️

“By His wounds we are healed.” – Isaiah 53:5

On this solemn day of Good Friday, we, the Sakristans, stand in silence and service, remembering the ultimate sacrifice of our Lord.

In stillness, we reflect.
In humility, we serve.
In faith, we endure.

May this sacred day deepen our devotion and remind us that through sacrifice comes salvation.

‎SJAP KOA Visita Iglesia 2026

‎Yesterday, the Knights of the Altar of Saint James the Apostle Parish went on a meaningful Visita Iglesia, visiting seven churches across Ormoc City and Albuera. With prayerful hearts, we journeyed together to:

‎1. San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish, Simangan
‎2. Mother of the Redeemer Parish, Cogon
‎3. St. Mark the Evangelist Parish, Linao
‎4. St. John Paul II Mission Station, Punta
‎5. Saints Peter and Paul Parish, Ormoc City Proper
‎6. Immaculate Conception Parish, Ipil
‎7. Saint James the Apostle Parish, Albuera

‎Each church we visited became a place of quiet prayer and reflection. It was a time to remember the Passion of Christ and to renew our faith and commitment as altar servers.

‎We sincerely thank everyone who helped make this journey possible:

‎•Ms. Marianne Macamay Cañon—Food Sponsor
‎•Mrs. Terri P. Chilton—Transportation Sponsor
‎•Mr. Emmanuel Martinito—Transportation Sponsor

‎ To our KOA President, thank you for your guidance and effort in organizing this activity. And to all fellow Sakristans, thank you for your presence and shared devotion.

‎To our Drivers, Kuya Lloyd and Kuya Rey! thank you for your dedication to accompany us during our Visita Iglesia and for driving us to our destinations safely. May God bless you both with abundant graces for your kindness.

‎This Visita Iglesia was more than a tradition—it was a reminder of our calling to serve.

‎May we continue to walk with Christ in every Mass, in every duty, and in our daily lives.

Congratulations, Engr. Alixes Jeason Lagumbay, RME!

Your SJAP-KOA family rejoices with you for successfully passing the February 2026 Mechanical Engineer Licensure Examination (MELE). Your hard work, dedication, and perseverance truly bear fruit!

As a former Sakristan in our Parish, your service to God and the Church has been an inspiration to many. May you continue to use your knowledge and gifts for the greater glory of God and in service to others.

We are proud of you and we pray for your continued success and blessings in your journey as a Mechanical Engineer.

“Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” (Genesis 3:19)

Today we begin our sacred journey of repentance and renewal. As the ashes are placed upon our foreheads, we are reminded of our humility before God, our need for conversion, and the call to turn away from sin.

“When you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites… and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” (Matthew 6:16–18)

Let this holy season be a time of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving — a return to the Lord with sincere hearts. May we, as servants in the sanctuary, guide the faithful not only in sacred rites but also in lives of holiness.

Repent, and believe in the Gospel!

Solemnity of Saint Valentine

Today we honor Saint Valentine, a priest and martyr whose life showed that true love is rooted in sacrifice and faith.

He became known for secretly celebrating Christian marriages when they were forbidden by the Roman Empire, ministering to persecuted Christians and helping those in need, and showing compassion and steadfast faith even while imprisoned — witnessing to love until death.

Because of his courage, charity, and unwavering devotion to Christ, he was recognized as a saint and is now remembered as the patron of love, young people, and happy marriages.

May his example remind us that real love serves, sacrifices, and remains faithful. ❤️
