𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: 𝗦𝗠𝗔 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵-𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻!

The spirit of devotion filled the air as SMA joyfully celebrated the Culmination Day of the Holy Rosary Month on October 22, a day overflowing with faith, creativity, and Marian love. The celebration gathered students, teachers, and staff in a beautiful showcase of unity and reverence for the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The morning began with the blessing and judging of the “Altarina”, where each class presented their own mini altar dedicated to the Blessed Mother. Every altarina reflected the students’ creativity and deep faith, turning ordinary spaces into sacred displays of devotion.

The celebration continued with the Awarding Ceremony for the month-long competitions—Quiz Bee, Essay Writing, Poster Slogan Making, Interpretive Dance, and Live Station. Each contest became a meaningful way for SMAnians to express their love for Mary through knowledge, art, and performance.

A crowd favorite was the “Dress Up Like Mary” segment, where students from each section dressed as the Blessed Virgin in various creative interpretations. From simple white gowns to elegant blue veils, the participants radiated the gentleness and grace of the Mother of God, filling the venue with admiration and awe.

The day’s events reminded everyone that the Rosary is not just a prayer but a powerful connection to God through Mary’s intercession. As October came to an end, the SMA community carried with them the message of faith, purity, and love that Mary continues to inspire.

St. Mary’s Academy Catechists Unite as Ambassadors of Hope

On September 29, the St. Mary’s Academy Catechists gathered at the Diocesan Seminary of the Heart of Jesus in San Vicente, San Fernando City, La Union to celebrate Catechetical Month. The event, themed “Ambassadors of Hope: Witnessing Faith, Inspiring Love, and Transforming Lives in this Changing World,” brought together passionate educators and faith leaders who continue to guide students and communities with courage and compassion. It was a day filled with prayer, learning, and shared commitment to living out the values of faith in everyday life.

Being an “Ambassador of Hope” means being someone who brings light into other people’s lives, especially when things feel dark or confusing. As students, we witness faith not just by praying or going to church, but by showing kindness, helping classmates, and standing up for what’s right. In a world that’s always changing, our small actions can be powerful signs of hope. Faith becomes real when we live it out in the way we treat others.

SMA Marks Mama Mary’s Birthday with Flower Offering

Saint Mary’s Academy joyfully celebrated the Blessed Virgin Mary’s birthday on September 8 through a flower offering. After the praying of the Holy Rosary, students from each section brought colorful baskets and bouquets of flowers as their heartfelt tribute.

The procession was solemnly led by the MAS officers, followed by the catechist and the vocation team, with students carrying their floral gifts as a sign of love and devotion. The fragrant blooms filled the campus, symbolizing purity, faith, and gratitude to Mama Mary.

SMA holds First Friday Mass and Induction rites

Agoo, La Union – Saint Mary’s Academy celebrated its First Friday Mass and induction ceremonies on September 5, 2025, at the Basilica of Our Lady of Charity. The Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Raymund Chan, with each section taking part through the offerings.

Right after the homily, the induction of newly elected officers took place. Officers of the SMA Faculty, PTA officers, Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG), classroom organizations, and school clubs formally pledged their commitment through an oath-taking led by Rev. Fr. Chan.

The event gathered students, teachers, and parents, who witnessed the installation of the new leaders. It concluded with prayers and blessings, marking a meaningful start to the academic year filled with guidance, unity, and dedication to service.

On February 25, 2025, Saint Mary's Academy held a heartfelt Mass to commemorate the EDSA Revolution.

Students, faculty, and staff took a moment to reflect deeply on the historic events that unfolded on this day, remembering how the Filipino people united in the face of challenges and danger. They recalled the bravery, determination, and selflessness shown by those who stood up for freedom, justice, and democracy during the EDSA Revolution. Together, they honored the courage of countless individuals who, through peaceful protests and unwavering faith, helped bring about a change that would forever shape the future of the nation. Their shared memories reminded everyone of the power of unity in achieving freedom.

On October 7, 2024, students of St. Mary's Academy Agoo, La Union Inc. celebrated the Feast Day of Our Lady of the Rosary with a special trivia.

The day began with a prayer led by the students followed by a trivia made by the campus ministry officers for the Holy Rosary. Students learned its history, its importance in the Catholic faith, and the meaning behind each of the mysteries. After the trivia session, a short quiz and games were prepared for each grade level, testing their understanding of the Holy Rosary. This celebration allows the students to deepen their faith and learn about this cherished tradition.

On October 3, 2024, St. Mary's Academy Agoo, La Union Inc. began on a month-long journey of prayer and reflection with the launch of the Holy Rosary with the theme "𝙒𝙖𝙡𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙩𝙤𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙨 𝙖 𝙎𝙮𝙣𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙡 𝘾𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙘𝙝". In this month of celebration, students gather for spiritual growth, reflection, and community engagement.

The program began with the announcement of the culminating activities, setting anticipation for the month ahead followed by explaining the theme highlighting our journey towards a synodal church, a church where everyone works together and walks together. Our Principal then delivered a heartfelt message about the importance of the Holy Rosary as a powerful tool for prayer.

The program highlights the living Holy Rosary, a moving experience that brought the prayer to life. Fifty-nine students, accompanied by the Ministry officers, portrayed the mysteries of the Rosary, representing each decade. The students' commitment to the theme of a synodal church was evident in their participation, as they each played a role in bringing the story of the Rosary to life.

The CDS Catechetical Day 2024, held at the Diocesan Seminary of the Heart of Jesus Gymnasium in San Fernando City, resonated with the theme "𝙋𝙧𝙖𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙨: 𝙋𝙞𝙡𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙢𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙃𝙤𝙥𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙎𝙮𝙣𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙡 𝘼𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣." Students from St. Mary's Academy Agoo, La Union, accompanied by their teachers and beloved principal, Mrs. Regina Alicna gathered on a day of faith, learning, and fellowship.

The day began with a solemn Mass presided by 𝙈𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙍𝙚𝙫. 𝘿𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙚𝙡 𝙊. 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙤, where the community united in prayer, seeking guidance and strength for their journey as catechists. After the Mass, the vibrant SMA-AGOO choir then filled the air with the uplifting strains of "𝘓𝘶𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘏𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘨", setting a joyful tone for the day. MCs led the lively opening ceremony, encouraging the students to embrace their roles as pilgrims of hope. The energy continued with a spirited dance number, reminding everyone of the joy and vibrancy of sharing their faith.

The morning sessions focused on the theme's core, with engaging seminars led by 𝘙𝘦𝘷. 𝘍𝘳. 𝘋𝘦𝘹𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘙𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘢 and 𝘙𝘦𝘷. 𝘍𝘳. 𝘍𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘬 𝘋𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘭, where they talked about 𝘗𝘪𝘴𝘰 𝘈𝘭𝘢𝘺 𝘒𝘢𝘱𝘸𝘢 and 𝘌𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺. A fun mini-trivia game tested the student's knowledge, adding an element of friendly competition. The afternoon sessions continued with a talk about 𝘝𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, led by 𝘙𝘦𝘷. 𝘍𝘳. 𝘒𝘦𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘵𝘩 𝘊. 𝘈𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦. This was followed by planning for pastoral concern and the blessing of student leaders. The day concluded with an awarding ceremony to acknowledge the active participation of each school that attended the seminar.
