Bishop Victor was not only a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus but also a beloved shepherd of the faithful. Before his appointment by Pope Francis in 2015 as the Third bishop of the Diocese of Gumaca, he served as Parish Priest of St. Dominic de Guzman Parish in Abucay, Bataan. It was here that his humility, compassion, and unwavering dedication to the youth shone most brightly.
He became a tireless promoter of the Columbian Squires, nurturing young men to grow in faith, service, and leadership. His pastoral heart was deeply attuned to the needs of the youth, ensuring that they were not only guided spiritually but also empowered to take their place in the life of the Church and community.
Bishop Victorโs episcopal motto, Corpus Meum (โThis is My Bodyโ), reflected his profound self-offering to God and to the people he served. His life was a living testament to this sacrificeโmarked by kindness, humility, and a steadfast commitment to the mission of Christ.
When he passed away on March 16, 2023, Brother Nico Mendoza a Knights of Columbus member and an esteemed promoter of Columbian Squires sought to preserve his legacy. Naming the Columbian Squires Circle after him is more than a tribute; it is a reminder to every young member that true leadership is rooted in service, humility, and love.
Through this circle, Bishop Victorโs spirit continues to inspire the youth to walk faithfully, serve generously, and lead with compassionโjust as he did throughout his priesthood and episcopacy.
