Today, the Church rejoices to remember the blessed Martin Luther, Doctor and Confessor, on the anniversary of his death in 1546.

"We are all beggars; that is true." These were the last words written by Luther. And we are. But we are beggars before a God who delights in dishing out His rich bounties upon unworthy sinners.

O God, our refuge and our strength, You raised up Your servant Martin Luther to reform and renew Your Church in the light of Your living Word, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Defend and purify the Church in our own day, and grant that we may boldly proclaim Christ's faithfulness unto death and His vindicating resurrection, which You made known to Your servant Martin through Jesus Christ, our Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

All these Lotu Programs are going to happen in the Headquarters of the Gutnius Lutheran Church of Papua New Guinea in IRELYA, Wabag, Eng Province to mark the 70th Year of the Church.

12/01/2019

This Lotu Program marks the 70th of the Gutnius Lutheran Church. American Missionaries in Late Otto Injia and Dr Willard Burce planted the first Church in Papua New Guinea in November, 1948 in Irelya Village 4kms away from Wabag Town of Enga Province.

Dr Wilard Burce and his wife Elanor Burce still live today in the States. They are close to 90s old now. The Ottio Injia have passed on.

However, the history of the GLC is captured in the diary book of Late Otto Injia titled - "From Ghost to God in Enga Land".

As we mark to celebrate this first 70 years, we believe that we are entering the periods of Moses and Joshua or Elijah and Elisah. As the old generation passed-on, the young generation takes over the Church Leadership, duties and responsibilities in Church, communities and mostly in families.

We believe that there is nothing better than to institute a spiritual repentence and reconciliation ceremony of the Irelya Community with God as so many unclean things have spoiled the good name of the Church since the Americans left the Church in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

We believe that before the 70th Year Anniversary celebration ceremony is held in July 2019, we believe that the Talyulu Tribe and the Irelya Community host a REPENTANCE & RECONCILIATION service to repent and reconcile with God and each other.

The Gutnius Lutheran Church through its Lutheran Youth Outreach Ministry (LCYOM) would like to invite all congregations within the Lutheran Faith and in other dinominations in the body of Jesus Christ to be part od these programs.

The LCYOM would like to use these events as a platform 1) to mend the broken relationship of the Church Leadership of the GLC (main objective) and also 2) to chart a way forward for the Church with the next generation (youth) working in "partnership" with other youths within and in other denominations in the Body of Christ locally and internationally to achieve common objectives both in spiritual and physical development in Enga and PNG wide.

We welcome each and everyone to these historic events. Those who are interested in these Lotu Programs can contact us on these follow contacts:
