Years ago, I introduced to some of my colleagues. A few of them, including myself, registered for the program, and we participated along the way. However, some of us, including myself, eventually withdrew for personal reasons.

Among us, only one continued with his studies. He always shared with us the things he learned, the ways the program had helped him, and some of the challenges he faced. He had many sleepless nights, but he never gave up. He is still continuing his studies today and has already completed two certificates from BYU–Idaho.

Today, he came to me and gave me the certificate he received from BYU–Idaho. He said, “Please take the honor of opening this envelope. You are the one who introduced this program to me.”

It was an emotional moment and a great privilege for me to present his certificate to him during that little ceremony.

His achievement has motivated me and those of us who once participated in this program but withdrew along the way. His journey is a reminder that perseverance, despite challenges and setbacks, can lead to great accomplishments.

Pleasing the Lord matters more than pleasing people.

Brigham Young once said:

“I don’t care about what other people think or say about me. All I care about is my standing before the Lord.”

That doesn’t mean we stop being kind or willing to learn. It means we stop letting the opinions of others define our worth or determine our direction.

The world will always have something to say. Some will misunderstand your faith. Some will criticize your choices. Others may judge your efforts.

But at the end of the day, the question that matters most isn’t, “What did people think of me?”

It’s, “Am I living in a way that is pleasing to the Lord?”

When our focus shifts from seeking the approval of others to seeking God’s approval, we find a peace the world cannot give.

Live with integrity. Love others. Stay true to your convictions. And let your greatest concern always be your standing before the Lord.

Just two weeks after registering, we officially received 150 birth certificates today for our prospective missionaries here in Lae Stake.

President Ali representing Stake President to received it on his behalf.

The Lord's timing is always perfect.

The next time a Gospel Doctrine teacher doesn’t explain something perfectly…

The next time a bishop forgets to say something…

The next time a Relief Society president misses a detail…

Remember that in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, most of our leaders and teachers are volunteers.

They aren’t professional clergy.

They’re parents, accountants, nurses, mechanics, teachers, students, and retirees who are trying to serve the Lord while balancing their own lives.

That doesn’t mean mistakes don’t happen.

It means that grace should.

One of the beautiful things about the Church is that ordinary people are invited to do extraordinary things through faith and service.

The bishop isn’t perfect.

The primary teacher isn’t perfect.

The elders quorum president isn’t perfect.

Neither are we.

Maybe the question isn’t whether someone served flawlessly.

Maybe the question is whether we’re willing to extend the same patience and understanding that we hope others will extend to us.

The Church is full of imperfect people trying to follow a perfect Savior.
