Here in our devotional today, we will take a look at the life of a tree. Referring to our opening scripture above, we read a statement of the Psalmist saying that, when one begins to discipline oneself and dedicate one's life to studying and living the Word of God, that person becomes so blessed that that person's life is like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season, whose leaf shall not wither and whatever he does he shall prosper.
There are a few points highlighted here by the Psalmist that we will look into as he made reference to illustrate with a tree resembling the life of a blessed person meditating every now and then on the Word of God.
Firstly, a blessed person's life is like a tree planted by the rivers of water. A tree that is by the river side or river bank, never runs out of water nor food. It never experiences dry seasons in life because everything it needs to grow strong and healthy is provided by the water. Its leaf does not wither every now and then. Its leaves are always green because there is more than enough water and food it draws from the river it is planted nearby, to survive.
Moreover, this is how the life of a person consuming the Word of God every now and then, every day and night is like. This person will never experience hunger, nor lack anything in life because God's Word consumed every day and night is food to one's spirit, soul and body. The Word of God as the river will provide every necessary nutrients that the person needs to grow and survive spiritually and physically.
Furthermore, if the tree is a fruit bearing tree that bears fruit, it will not be left untouched. And no fruit tree is left untouched. People and birds will still admire its fruit and get attracted to it. Birds and bats will come to sit on the tree to eat the fruits. For human beings, they will throw sticks and stones to get the fruit or even climb it if there's need for it.
Having said that, lets now apply this to a blessed person who study's the Word of God day and night and live by it. The blessed man will be empowered by the Spirit of the Word of God to become so prosperous in everything in life as a result of one living and applying the Word of God to produce results. In addition to that, a blessed person will not be left alone if one's life has gone to a point where one begins to bear fruit and manifest one's desired results. So as a fruit tree attracts people to throw sticks and stones to get the fruit, the person producing results in life will surely be attacked by family, friends, loved ones and anyone passing by who has a knowledge of the kind of fruit the person is producing. As such, they will throw sticks and stones to get the fruit out of the blessed persons life. Thus, as a tree don't complain. Its a sign one's life is a living proof of God's Word producing results. Therefore, one gets to be criticized and get ridiculed. So don't complain or cry to God asking all the why and how questions. Just be glad knowing that you're in the right track and you will continue to prosper in and out of season like the tree planted and rooted in the Uncompromised, undiluted Word of God. Remain locked in the Word of God day and night, and you shall be blessed in your going out and coming out, all the days of your life.

I declare and decree, as a tree planted by the rivers of water, may your life be empowered to succeed in everything that you put your mind to. And as you succeed, I release the Grace to persist and endure as a tree when people throw stones at your fruits. May you not complain but be glad that they are being attracted to your fruits. I prophesy you will never run dry and low because your life is rooted and grounded firm in the Word of God that you study day and night. And may you remain blessed always in your going in and coming out, in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
