Proverbs‬ ‭18:24 (AMP)
“The man of too many friends [chosen indiscriminately] will be broken in pieces and come to ruin, But there is a [true, loving] friend who [is reliable and] sticks closer than a brother.”

⚡️Hello students! We hope the first day of summer school went well!
🌱God can be considered many things to different people. In the Bible he is considered a king, a father and a friend. Let’s focus on the friend part, in this scripture it states there’s a friend, a loving and true friend, who is reliable and sticks closer to you than a brother. That friend is God, that friend is Jesus. God wants to be the friend that you go to with everything, during your good days and your bad days. He wants you to talk to him. He wants you get to know him as well. I know that we hear this a lot in the religious world, but I believe that there’s something deeper to learn about who God actually is biblically. We learned in our previous post that Jesus has been through all temptations and all situations to be able to understand and relate to us. We learned that Jesus survived all the temptations sin free, showing us that we can overcome. And God wants to be that friend to help and show you ways you can through anything as well, if you’d like.
💭 Do you see Jesus/God as a friend? Why would or wouldn’t you consider Him your friend? Have you tried getting to know him in a relational level? If so, in what ways have you tried? How would one know the ‘right’ way to reach out to God? What makes God a friend, biblically?

Hebrews 4:15 (MSG)
“We don’t have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He’s been through weakness and testing, experienced it all — all but the sin.”

🌱 Hello Student! We hope you summer is going well! Here we learn that Jesus is a person that can sympathize, that can understand, that can relate to every single person on this planet for he has been through it all. Not only was Jesus 100% God but based on the scripture he was also 100% man while he was on earth. He’s been through the trials, test, all types of temptations known to man. According to the Bible, Jesus died innocent. He was sinless. Spotless. But there are passages of people telling half-truths along with lies about him, they wanted him arrested because they were simply jealous. Jesus died a criminal’s death while not being a criminal himself. He allowed himself to go through because he wanted to let people know that they are not alone, and that he understands them. The scripture states Jesus committed no sin because he wanted to show people that sin can be overcome, and they, too, could overcome. Sure, he died on the cross but he went up there willingly.

💭 What is ‘sin’? Is it what mom and dad tell us it is? How do you think Jesus got through the testing and temptation without sinning? What decision will you make during testing and temptations?

Matthew‬ ‭7:7-8‬‬ (NIV)
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”

🌱 Hello Everyone! It’s finally summer and we are hoping you guys are still doing well. In this scripture, it tell us to ask, seek, and knock these are all action words. This is who we can get to know God and a way to do that is to get to know his word, the Bible. We hear this all the time from the people around us, “ask and you shall receive”, “close mouth don’t get fed” these all tell us if we want something we have to do some work. We understand there are plenty of questions about God, the Bible, Jesus and more. Sure one can google it, but there’s so many different sources with many different biases who can say what is true. So why not take your questions straight to the source, no biases and no outside interpretation (or, even, come see if this is possible to do). According to the Bible, the words are from God but his people were the writers. We have weekly Bible Discussion and have personal bible studies (that are available whenever you are), you all are more than welcome to bring these questions.
