Robbins, Brother Joe to all my friends, I am currently serving as a missionary in the Peruvian Amazon, a few hours south of Iquitos Peru. due to a weight issue and DOT laws, I really feel that God called me in off the road to go into full time ministry, I began to sell all that I owned and on June 5, 2016 I landed in Georgetown, Guyana with every possession I owned carried in four bags. I made my
way via minibus to Lethem, Guyana the next day and waited another eleven days before I could get a flight to Guns strip, where the Wai-Wai village of Masekenari is. This is the most remote Amerindian village in the South American country of Guyana and I was fortunate enough to volunteer in the clinic there for three weeks and spend another week and a half with some of them on the famed Esequibo River. While there I was instrumental in helping the village leader attain funding for a new road from the Guns airstrip to the village which is three kilometers away. Also while there I observed a REAL need, there are a number of diabetics in the village and whenever they develop a need for insulin they have to move over a hundred miles to Lethem because there is no refrigeration in Guns to keep insulin or even vaccines for the children. This is a simple fix, they need a dedicated solar panel, controller, inverter, battery and small dorm sized refrigerator. These items will fix this need, on my way back I found the same need in the village of Parrabarra. $4000 U.S. will cover the costs for all these items, transportation and installation!
