Please take a few moments to read a special prayer request for Panama.

Over the past three weeks Panama has been experiencing a growing level of unrest. What began as peaceful protests over fuel prices and the cost of living as well as other things like teacher salaries, have become more intense.

Every Tuesday the church gathers for a time of prayer. A time when we can gather and pray for each other, our families and friends, the community, and for the church. A time when we can praise God for all the blessings that He provides on a daily basis. This past Tuesday the prayer night was at our apartment and we shared the blessings over the past year. We also prayed that God would be glorified through our prayers and actions in this new year. We are very thankful for these moments that we have with the body of Christ here in Panamá.

The ladies of our church hosted an evening to decorate pots and plant plants. After the event we took the extra plants to the local park and passed them out with information about the church. Please pray for the new ladies that we met that night both in the event and in the park. Pray that God would be using something as small as a plant to draw people to himself.

In preparing to go to the foreign mission field we went through a lot of trainings. From getting us ready to minister in cultures different to our own to evangelism and discipleship courses. But there was never a training on dealing with crocodiles in a major city.

Luckily I grew up in the swamps of southeast Georgia and I have some experience dealing with gators. Ask me about that one time in college.

Today marks one month since we landed in Panamá. We are still in the process of getting settled. We finally moved into our apartment this past Monday and we look forward to the ministry that will happen in our home.

Owen has been a trooper in this whole process. There really hasn't been any major break downs just random moments of missing family and wanting to "Chick-a-Lay." We are thankful for God's grace during this transition.

This picture is the view of the city from our apartment. As you look at it join us in praying for the people of Panama. Pray that Christ will be glorified through the ministry here and that many will come to know Christ as their Savior.

We have been in Panama for just over two weeks now and the process of getting settled has been slower than we thought. We have finally found an apartment in the neighbor where the church meets and we will receive the keys to the apartment on Aug. 15.

While the process has been slower than we thought we are thankful for God's timing and provision through it all. We are thankful for the members of Iglesia Comunidad de Cristo and look forward to the relationships that we will build.

We are especially thankful for the friendships that Owen is starting to make. Right now there are no kids his age but there are some younger boys that has been able to play with. They have been so welcoming to Owen and we are thankful that God has provided these relationships to help ease the transition to a different country.

Thank you for your continued prayers as we are still getting settled and look forward to getting more involved in ministry.

We are thrilled to report that we have purchased our tickets and will be moving to Panama City, Panama on July 20th. Thank you for your prayers and financial giving. Thank you for sending us. Thank you for your continued prayers.

You are in this with us and we are so grateful for you!

Ways to pray:

That God would place us in the neighborhood, apartment building, etc. that He would have us in.

-That we would have a sweet remaining time with family and friends before we depart.

-That the logistics of our move would continue to go smoothly.

-That even through this transition we would be able to tell of God’s grace and faithfulness to those around us.

-That we would guide Owen (now 4) through this process of leaving well.

We look forward to reporting from Panama!

Say a prayer for the logistics of our international move. We just ran into a hurdle with shipping our items from Colombia to Panama.

God knows exactly what we need and if it can be resolved.
